"The law" is what's specifically laid down in the Constitution, as this so called "Constitutional schollar" darned well knows! The Constitution specifically calls for a supermajority ONLY in a few well defined instances. Senate rules are just that... RULES! Rules govern things like dress codes, for goodness sakes! Rules are not "the law."

Of course, leave it for a POS like Byrd to try to make people believe that laws would be broken by actually following the laws set down in the Constitution!

Socialist programs flying in the face of the Constitution are always, forever seeking the cloak of legality. I, the Voter, hold the Law in contempt. The only reason why Americans put up with it is they think they are powerless to fight the 'Almighty Law'.
