Wonder if Mr. Calewarts discussed the theft of private property and the 10 Commandments with his children.

I bet Wisconsin would welcome a flag with Ward Churchill's picture on it.

If they can't stand the sight of that flag in Wisconsin they'd be in hell if they ever visited a store in Gettysburg.

Why doesn't anybody talk about the anti-American red, green, and black flag that's flown in black neighborhoods, and stands for Black Nationalism?
That seems to be a taboo subject. Yet, the flag of the Confederacy, which has an actual history in America, isn't tolerated in some areas.

"The flag keeps being taken, so I must not be the only one offended by it."
Alright, let me see if I can comprehend this to something else. Since American flags are often stolen since they are wanted and some people are too lazy to go buy one, that means they are offensive also?
I always thought the Confederate Flag was a battle flag?

and they call people in the south rednecks.. Wisconsin has the most bigoted,narrow-minded people around.

"Just because somebody decided years ago that it represented the Ku Klux Klan, and to some people in the South and here, it still does. But it's a significant part of our history, one that should be remembered." You tell 'em Norm!!!!
So, are we to just remember history that feeeeeeels good?

I don't think it's necessarily wrong for people to be offended by the battle flag of a revolt that tore the nation apart and cost hundreds of thousands of lives. No doubt, many of the offended Wisonsin citizens had ancestors who paid with their lives to put down that rebellion (just like I do). Regardless of the more modern associations with civil rights and Jim Crow, the fact remains that the Confederate flag is the banner of a vanquished enemy. Flying, say, Bismark's flag, the rising sun battle flag, or Saddam's Iraqi standard would be just as offensive, and, I would guess, not readily defended by many who defend flying the Confederate flag.

If people want to gripe about flags, let them gripe about the fact that there are as many Mexico flags flying in South Texas as there are American flags.

Just because you want to fly your confederate flag in areas of the country that participated in the rebellion, why should you expect it to be welcomed with the same enthusiasm in areas that fought against you? You want to fly it in Dixie, fine. Don't force it on the rest of us.
