AURORA, Colo. -- Aurora police are reviewing a weekend incident in which a man accused of stealing salad from a Chuck E. Cheese salad bar was hit with a stun gun twice by officers.
The incident began at 4:05 p.m. Sunday when officers were called to the restaurant at 145005 East Exposition on a report of a larceny in progress.
Police talked to the Chuck E. Cheese manager who told them that a customer had refused to show proof that he had paid for food. The manager said the man was seen "loading" his plate at the salad bar.
The officers confronted Danon Gale, 29, who was at the restaurant with his children, aged 3 and 7. Patrons said the popular kids pizza parlor was packed with children and families at the time.
According to police, Gale was asked to step outside to discuss the incident.
"According to witnesses (Gale) refused to cooperate with police and a struggle ensued," said Larry Martinez, a police spokesman. He said that Gale became argumentative and shoved one of the officers, a fact disputed by another patron.
"One of the officers kept poking the gentleman in the chest," Felicia Mayo told the Rocky Mountain News.
She was there with her 7-year-old son. She told the newspaper that Gale told the officer "You don't have to do that." She said Gale never put his hands on the officer who was confronting him
The argument escalated until Gale was shoved into the lap of Mayor's sister, who was sitting two booths away, holding a 10-month-old baby. That's when police pulled out a Taser stun gun to subdue him.
"They beat this man in front of all these kids then Tased him in my sister's lap," Mayo told the newspaper. "They had no regard for the effect this would have on the kids. This is Chuck E. Cheese, you know."
Gale's two children were "screaming and hollering and crying" as Gale was tasered with two times with the stun gun.
Police arrested Gale as his children and other customers watched. They took him outside, leaving his children inside the restaurant.
Gale was arrested for investigation of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and trespassing.
His two children were picked up by a relative.
The manager of the restaurant declined comment and Gale said he couldn't talk about it, after hiring an attorney.

I am sure that there was an incident at the Aurora Chuck E. Cheese maybe ten or fifteen years ago. Seems like an employee went berserk and killed two or three people. Pretty sure it was this location on Exposition Ave. Never visited there personally, but I grew up in the neighborhood.

Just this past weekend I spent time repairing turn signals on my car so as to be the safest on the rode and I guess, apparently, not to draw the attention of a rabid cop.
Wen I was 17, I went to Palm Springs with a buddy. We had no drugs, no alcohol. We were not speeding, nor reckless driving. Just driving down the street like everyone else. Rear lights were out - blown fuse. "Can I pull out of the way and fix it now?" COP - no you can sign right here?" "It's a blown fuse. I can fix it right here." No you can sign here or go to jail."
Apparently the city was capitalizing on the big crowds too!
When I was fresh out of the Navy some pre-pubescent dork on a bike trys to beat the interesection. I hit him, or rather he ran into the side of my car. CHP shows up and I'm the ass-hole child abuser. Never mind that I was honorably discharged US Navy. clean cut and respectful. Never mind that I was paid call fire-fighter. Never mind that I was local ambulance driver. A child was run over, so I must be guilty.
My family is mostly law enforcement. Almost all of them are nice guys. But I don't trust them in uniform.
Like someone said before, its a power thing.

Another case comes top mind
and so on and so on . . .
One local constable was left by his wife 'cause he's the a$$hole. He decides, on duty, that he wants some more of what she's no longer given. So he goes to her new house, on duty, in uniform and rapes her, then he decides that she's not fit to live. So he drags her into the back yard and shoots her and attempts to bury her in a small grave. In uniform!
Most of my family is or was LEO. I don't trust then in a uniform.
it doesn't matter if you're right or not. If they want to, they can make you squeal like Ned Beatty.

The officer pulled in a fast food joint and started in.
I used to drive an ambulance. The paramedic regularly would want to stop for a snack on the way to calls.

Cops like this one reflect badly on the 10% who are decent.
Looks like only 10% of the citizens in your own community are able to self-govern themselves successfully.

shoved into the lap of Mayor's sister LOL. And she was holding a baby? Oh, that cop is in trouble. This is a ridiculous story. Sounds like someone was sauced at the salad bar

The tazer has become his favorite tool. The flashlight, gun and baton are all too deadly where as the tazer has the stopping power he needs to bring down most any aggressor. He doesn't have to kill someone, he doesn't have to engage them too closely, it keeps him safe and the target is relatively save as well.
Yes, my brother is in a position of power but knowing what I know about him - I can't think of anyone better for the job.

Another Me-ocrat to spend a little quiet time in the Naughty Corner to think about how his all-important gut is more important than the well-being of his own children or others'.Why not let the good people of Colorado practice their self-governance and conclude the investigation of the incident without busybodies from Callie butting in?

I was pointing out the reality of what had happened in Colorado, not enlisting an army of faraway busybodies to go call in and complain to someone who is not accountable to them in any way.
