I don't like to say I told you so. But, actually, I do like to say I told you so. What I don't like to do is the obligatory false self-deprecatory thing to mitigate against the insufferableness of my saying I told you so. But nevertheless I did.
Is Steyn the only guy in the media who figured out, one year before we toppled Saddam, what the purpose of our policy in Iraq was?
Actually, Bush told us before he did it. The media and most everyone else glossed over it in their rush to condemn the invasion.
Steyn's been there all along. So have a bunch of others. The left has been hearing it's own idiotic mantra and not listening to or reading what the administration has been saying all along.
Probably not the only one, but a member of a select few. What's funny is that it was obvious to most Freepers, but so few in the media seemed to have a clue about it.
Steyn...and some guy named Pramit Pal Choudhiri with the Hindustani Times
Still, the notion seems to have escaped American's MSM. Even today...
Maybe so.
It was always obvious to me. Make an example of one of these dictators and the whole mood of the neighborhood will change.
A lot of people didn't want that, so they played dumb...."why are we going after THIS guy, why NOW".
Why did we respond to Pearl Harbor by sending troops to North Africa? It's called seeing the bigger picture.
I believe Fouad Adjami of Johns Hopkins and of US News was also out front with Iraq being the weak link.
No, of course not. The NEW media understood what was going on. Shoot, this is why we were all beating the drum for war, at least speaking for myself. Because he was finally doing something about it instead of letting it continue to fester and rot.
This is a vindication for all of us.
