Men and women that epitomize conservative thought are conveying the sentiment of the majority of Americansthe people rallying under every exigency, for love of country, love of mankind and love of God.
These Americans, the difference makers, believe in the United States and promote the growth of conservatism every day. Now, they exist in every facet of life, propagating the belief that conservatism will save America. From accountants to zoologists, they consciously and unconsciously exert every ounce of energy to better America and its citizens.
They work the polls at elections. They walk door to door to preserve the Constitution. They volunteer for the betterment of their community. They know that their ideals are American ideals. They are born of traditions that destroy liberalism. They preserve the fine institutions for the sake of posterity. They are mothers, fathers, sons and daughters. They are next door neighbors. They are Americans, salt of the Earth. They are proponents of traditional values. And they are the largest reason for the new conservative shift in 21 st century America. They come from every corner of the United States and represent the best America has to offer, exhibiting those red state values, making all Americans proud.
They are women like Carolina from Ohio. Carolina was born in South Carolina, but spent the first five years in American Samoa. She was adopted by relatives in Ohio where she was raised until she left for college. According to Carolina, her first words werent in English but Samoan, and one of her biggest obstacles was learning English.
When I first arrived in America, I had to learn English, she notes. It is because of this that I do not encourage bilingual education for students. I believe that to fully understand and appreciate America it is imperative that you learn how to communicate in this country. America is an English speaking country. For those that want to change it, GET OVER IT!
Carolinas values can be traced back to her mother; values that are placed in morality. She said she was raised in a Pentecostal household and as far as holy rollers go, her mother helped to define what kind of person she would become. My mom is a prayer warrior. If ever there was a powerful person in this world, its a prayer warrior. Through God, they can truly move mountains. Ive seen miracles upon miracles and I can tell you I believe in the power of prayer.
It wasnt just the teaching morality and English that was instilled. Carolina was also raised in a very patriotic community. She said she came from a community where being anti-American is not a wise thing to vocalize. Disagreeing with the governments policies isnt the same thing as open hostility towards America. After all, I was raised to believe that policies can be changed, but hostility to a government created by the people can be a very dangerous thing. It rings very true today.
Carolina believes those values should be applied to immigration as well. She notes that her grandpa Woody used to tell her that America is at her best when shes giving the world her best. To just allow anyone in this country is a very bad thing to do and if the world expects the best from America, we should choose new citizens or workers in the same manner. If you allow trash in, thats what you will get out of the citizenry.
Carolina doesnt mince any words. She believes that securing our borders is as important as supporting our military. She said that the people she admires mostoutside of certain members of her familyare those that serve and protect the country. She considers our military and those that protect our country as one of the most thankless, selfless and admirable things to do for America. I mention thankless, she remarked. Because there are so many people protecting America all day long and theyre never thanked or appreciated for doing it. I say less Hollywood and more heroes. Lose the zeroes and find some heroes. Theyre everywhere!
Carolina is right and she is one of those heroes. Not because she serves her country in the conventional sense, but in an unconventional sensegiving all of her spare time selflessly to support our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, coasties and veterans. She is a remarkable woman that deserves to be titled a difference maker. She comments that she is very pro-Israel, pro-life, pro-fathers and especially pro-military. I am one of those awful Americans that believe whatever the military wants that America should give it to them. I have no problem with that. Theyre defending the country. If they need new armor, weapons and jets, then give it to them! Otherwise, get out there and do it yourself!
Carolinas support and resolve for the military continue in the Free Republic Canteen. Its there that she supports the troops every night and morning. There are so many terrific folks in the Canteen that help to entertain and amuse our troops, veterans and their families, she said. Im humbled to be a member. It has been rocky at times but still keeps going. Yet another reason Carolina is labeled a difference maker.
And if that isnt enough, Carolinaalong with members of the Canteenbegan Proud Patriots, Inc last year. She tells us that they wanted the opportunity to let anyone contribute to do so. According to Carolina, thats how Proud Patriots was born. It takes very little to help our troops. Anyone can do it. If youre tight on the money, there are other avenues that can still be used. For example, you can have your kids write letters or create drawings. You can send an email to our troops via the Canteen Post Office. It isnt all that difficult. You just have to give up a few minutes of your life.
Carolina is a conservative, and supporting American soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, coastguardsmen and veterans is second nature. It is conservatism and its principles that has in-grained the love of country in her. I feel privileged to grow up in the greatest country in the world, she said. I have seen some of the poorest countries in the world and I am grateful in that God has blessed me so much.
Carolinas conservatism stems in her belief that there is something in life worth saving, that men and nations are governed by moral laws, that conservatives resist tyranny or oligarchy, and that real community is governed by love and charity. For supporting our troops with every exigency, Carolina has become a difference maker. And we are forever grateful for her.
All these men and women are inculcated with moral laws, a strong work ethic and a belief in God. These conservatives, American conservatives, believe that they have a right to what is their ownthey deserve the very best rewards of their ability and Carolina from Ohio is one of many. They believe that property and freedom are forever connected. These people believe that their community, America, is governed by love and charity. These conservatives are not selfish; instead, they have a belief, a fondness and adoration for the public domain. They believe in the same manner as Lord Falkland: When it is not necessary to change, it is necessary not to change.
These beliefs are a direct contradiction to modern liberal philosophy. These conservatives believe that preserving, or conserving those enduring values will make for a stronger America. This is the America they champion, an America handed down from the Founding Fathers. It is the America before the New Deal, before todays socialistic Democrats placed its first foundations upon American soil. With the preservation of private property and freedom, America can accomplish great things. These Americans staunchly defend it. America is forever thankful to God and to its conservatives.
And for that they are American difference makers.
kudos. that is great! We need more people like Carolina in this counrty.
