But as a quote to substantiate the piece, I think it is inflammatory.

I believe, knowing the person, that she was referring to trash in the sense of terrorists, murderers, rapists and other unsavory characters that immigrate illegally into the country.

She wasn't referring to legal immigrants, of which she was one. That's the way I certainly took the remark and certainly the way I meant it. I can see your point, but protecting our borders in today's world is paramount to our continued safety. It can no longer be ignored.

I happen to agree with this one.

I think most Americans do agree. The current crop of illegal aliens usually don't bother to learn our language, our history or our culture. They look upon America as a big free candy store, and our politicians continue to encourage that. Not the type of immigrants America needs or wants.
