I don't disagree with your theory. But it's obvious green cards are being handed to criminals. With that card they can do most anything, like buy real estate, etc.

I don't know about all that. They are supposed to check these people out before they give them green cards and I unless some records of past problems come up I don't know how they'll know who is going to turn out to be a criminal and who is going to turn out to be an asset to their communities.

I'll tell you what really bugs me and that is how aliens, both legal and illegal, can get convicted of felonies and then just be allowed to walk out of the jail back onto our streets. I'm a public defender and I see that happen all of the time. It just blows me away. Even legal aliens are supposed to be deported if they commit felonies or certain kinds of misdemeanors, but often they don't even deport the illegal aliens for committing serious felonies. I've been appointed to represent illegals on all sorts of charges and in almost every case where they get a suspended sentence or probation or even some jail time they just let them go. I don't know how often they are being deported after serving a prison sentence but in almost every case where things are handled locally these guys get right back out on the streets.

The thing is that INS knows we've got these people here. They'll be sitting in the jail and all those no accounts at INS would have to do is come pick them up or pay the sheriff's office to transport them, but they won't do it. Often they'll put a hold on them but then still won't come get them when it's time so the people end up getting released. And some of these guys are really bad news. In the last few months I've had one convicted of molesting a little kid and another convicted of hindering apprehension in a murder case. Other attorneys in my office have had several others convicted of other serious crimes being released like this and I have no doubt this sort of thing goes on in other parts of the country. The least INS could do is work with local authorities and deport the illegals who are known criminals.

That's my rant.

Who's fault is that? The liberals? When will our conservative leaders take charge?
