That's a pretty flag. Do you -- or does anyone -- know the significance of the tree symbol?

I just hope we've been watching for a line of trucks heading out of the Bekaa Valley for the Syrian border.

You better believe they are.

It just gives me chills (the good kind) that freedom is spreading because of the "Bush Doctrine".

< Media spin=on>It would have happened sooner if Bush hadn't made the region so unstable

< /media spin=off>

I just hope they aren't going to reshuffle Syrian puppets. I really feel like Syria will be out really fast since the world is watching them under a microscope.

The President who is pro Syrian remains - all it means is that anew govt will form

We will see who appoints what; but in the even that he does, he wouldn't dare appoint another Syrian monkey.

This is not as some posters declared - the fall of the Berlin wall.

Gee, you sound like you're upset that ANYTHING happened.

Bush was far smarter than people will ever know by going into Iraq to remove Hussein.

Yes. As was Cheney. They are both being vindicated BIG TIME now.

Do you -- or does anyone -- know the significance of the tree symbol?

I would assume that it has to do with the famous cedars of Lebanon. Upon a quick google, my guess seems to be confirmed.

FOX had it too, but I switched to CNN when they stopped covering the scene in Beirut to cover Wacko's trial in Santa Maria.

Bad move by FOX imho.

My five year old son was looking at a magazine and saw Mt Rushmore, he recognized the presidents and asked "When they were going to put George Bush up there?" Obviously a very intelligent boy!

The tree on that flag is the "Cedar of Lebanon". Lebanon used to be full of them (and famous for them), though most if not all have been cut down and used for building material.

"I just hope they aren't going to reshuffle Syrian puppets."

It gives the people a sense of power. The upcoming elections may, or may not, be the big turning point. I suppose the elections might not come off, say Iran orders Hezbollah to pick a fight with Israel.
