Are you alleging that the North American leadership is <gasp> racist????
Shalom.
For what it's worth, if the Church would spend more time trying to be Jesus to the world, and less time trying to be the Holy Spirit, we wouldn't have these problems.
Shalom.
Racist?
No.
Elitist.
Are any of the elite other than white Europeans?
Shalom.
Sure.
And actually, I don't think any of the leaders of the Canadian and American Episcopalian Churches are Europeans. They're all North Americans as far as I know.
Thanks.
I meant European descent.
Shalom.
You mean white?
My daughter's free little Oldsmobile (grandmother's car) broke, we got her a Toyota.
Well, non-hispanic, non-Arab, non-asian, etc.
We're talking germanic, gaullic, anglo-saxon, polish, etc.
Shalom.
Are Spaniards, the Portuguese, Albanians, Greeks or Turks white?
How about Israelis. Are they Asian?
Shalom.
Where I think all of this is going is a permanent and irretrievable schism, with the Episcopalian Church ceasing to be a part of the Anglican Communion.
They will have done so because of an obsessive desire to protect an openly adulterous, openly homosexual bishop, and a relentless desire to pronounce religious sacraments over gay unions.
The rest of the Church has called for Episcopalians to come to their senses, but there is an arrogance and elitism to Americans. They will not be turned. They will, instead, take their Church right out of the Anglican Communion, and in truth right out of Christianity and they will not give a good God-damn (and I use the word intentionally, because that is PRECISELY their attitude towards God, the Bible, absolutely ANYTHING that stands in the way of their arrogant drive to do EXACTLY what they want, and to Hell with the consequences or tradition, Holy Writ or anything else).
Those who choose to remain Christian will leave the Episcopal Church.
Most will choose the wide, arrogant path.
It is like watching an old movie of a train wreck.
You know what it going to happen.
You see it coming.
And you know that nothing is going to stop it.
Arrogance is in full cry in the American Church, and pride goeth before a Fall.
So basically, they lied?
I agree with your post but I don't think you go far enough. I think this is leading to the place where it will be quite obvious who actually loves Christ and wants to follow Him wherever that might lead (and it will lead to difficulty if not outright persecution) and those who want to create a religion that loves them. This is taking place in all denominations, and even in the non-denominational denomination. It's not just Episcopalians.
It has been so from the beginning, but in our own time it is becoming clear that you have to take sides.
I was trying to suggest that the elitist are somewhat racist, but you have more categories of races than I do so I was having trouble keeping up with you.
Shalom.
False Religions will rise up in the end times.
