Hillary Fever? Might Be Something We Eight. [Howard Kurtz blather]
Washington Post ^ | February 28, 2005 | By Howard Kurtz

The press is clearly rooting for another Clinton campaign. Three years and eight months before the next presidential election, the Hillary buzz is growing louder.

There she is on the cover of New York magazine, taking the oath of office, with the headline: "President and Mr. Clinton." Journalists scrutinize her every utterance for 2008 implications. An absurdly early CNN/USA Today poll question has the New York senator crushing the Democratic field. Every reporter assumes she's feverishly plotting her return to the White House. "It is a painful and ludicrous conceit of political reporting that you examine everything far too early," says Jennifer Senior, who wrote the New York story. "On the other hand, presidential races are painful and ludicrous things that require vast amounts of money and preparation." If Clinton is the Democratic nominee, says Senior, "she's going to need a lot of time to reformulate her image."

"Hillary running will be a great continuing story. The other Democrats will complain, to use the famous phrase, that she is sucking all the oxygen out of the room."

A famous phrase that nobody ever uttered until the Clintons came along. They are the best thing that ever happened to the Republican Party. The Republicans did not suddenly get smart. The Democrats just married themselves to the Clintons and got what all associates of the Clintons get in the end... screwed.

A Hillary! Presidential run would let the good times will roll for the Republicans for the next twenty years. Even if she wins the White House, the Pubbies will solidify their gains in all other areas of governance. Then when Hillary! flames out, it will leave a vacuum in Washington that will be filled by the 'Pubbies for at least a generation.

Hillary! 2008? Bring it on!

Should have read; " she's going to need the same support and propaganda from the MSM that she received in her Senate run"

Smoking crack and having unrealistic expectations are the core of the democratic party. New York and California need to wake up and think of America first, when they vote. If in the position the dem0-commies would transform America into a zero-power, instead of a super-power nation. The B'atch hillary is nothing more than a TOE= Thing of Evil. NSNR, "I'll Take My Stand." Note:::: Johnny7 you made a clear and present point of the truth.

The way 'Bubba looks now... she just might be a 'widder' by 2008. When I saw him arriving in Indonesia with Bush41, he looked like death warmed-over.

Hillary Fever? I'm a firm believer in that. Anyone who would even consider voting for her is very ill.

The frightening thing to me is...many who will vote in 2008 are about 14 now. When the Clintons were in the White House, they were 10. It is easy for her to fool a lot of voters. So many don't remember anyway, our country has short-term memory now as a way of life. And so many who will vote and be "charmed" by her B.S. have been way too young to know anything about FBI files, China connections, or any of the other lies, etc. of the Clintons.

Hillary! 2008? Bring it on!

Back after "that being" was elected as the "junior" Senator from New York, some freepers wondered what was wrong with the people of New York. Why did we elect her? I said back then and I say it now - if you think you can stop her, go ahead and try. Franklin Roosevelt made the statement, paraphrased, "...nothing happens by accident.." Let's hope "that being" self-destructs by then, but if anyone on this forum plans on that - you're making a big mistake. Geffen says that ambition alone is not enough. Oh yeah! You watch! The msm is certainly not going to rest and those of you who think she won't make that run are underestimating her. Look at the phony polls and you know what's going to happen. I see the only way to stop "that being" is with Condoleeza Rice.

(Will she be re-elected in New York in '06? Anybody wanna bet against her? And she will faithfully promise that she'll fulfill her term. And all the sappo libs will bow down and kiss her fat butt? A funny thing happened though -in having a discussion with a friend of ours, a really huge women's libber, - she said she'd vote for McCain in a match-up with "that being". Go figure.)

Hillary in 2008? I'm not taking anything for granted but....

- a Presidential campaign is far different than a Senate run. She will be under a microscope for over a year, and not even her sycophants in the MSM will be able to fully protect her from the spotlight. Remember her Gandhi joke last year? She sticks her foot in her mouth often.

- She has no credibility as C-in-C. I know this will not sway any of her backers, as her supporters will support her no matter what, but independents can thus be moved against her.

- the Conservative base will be motivated as never before.

- she has a ton of baggage, most notably one William Jefferson Clinton, as well as a host of scandals going back to 1992 (and earlier in Arkansas).

- she's a terrible speaker and she isn't aging very well. Her appearance is a cosmetic issue I know but it will turn some voters off. And when she waddles out on stages during the campaign they'll have to turn the cameras off to protect her.

So I say, bring on The Beast and let's defeat her and be done with her. 2008 will be her only chance; in 2012 she'll be another has-been like Teddy of sKerry.

I agree: when I saw Bubba with H.W. at the Super Bowl, I thought oh crap, The Hildebeast is going to be a widder just in time for 2008 and we'll have this big national funeral and all that.

I don't wish the man death. But he does look like he's not long for this world.
