We are alraedy getting the snow here on the East Coast.
Looks like it's getting heavier!
Won't be on the DOSE much for a while as I won't have access to the internet from my home PC for the next two weeks.
And I'll be leaving today at Noon my time in order to avoid traqvelling in even heavier snow.

Until you and Starwise pointed it out I had completely missed that this was a photo with lipstick on his face. You see I am pure and innocent and all I was looking at was the baby. (I bet you don't believe that Ohio - LOL).

For us in recent years in the South of England this is quite a lot of snow.
It is reasonable area where we live; our house could do with a lick of paint and probably new front window frames but what with the extra expense as mum and dad have got older unfortunately that had to go on the back burner maybe next year. The house is well built and the fabric is in good condition it is about 100 years old so inside the room are larger and taller than the modern shoe box houses.
Yes this is in Ashford, Kent which is traditionally a market and railway town. URL of website that gives more details on the town where I come from for those interested.

I agree winter is not over yet.
Catch you later on the dose.

Nah, we don't usually get as much as we've had this year--I hope the forecasts don't materialize as they are predicted to.
Hey, I just read a story on Drudge about gangs busting windows on trains in London and they also mentioned Kent.
Have you heard anything about this? Sounds pretty bad!

Thank you for all you do to get this wonderful window into our Presidsent's day to us.
I wanted to share a special thing that happened to me that relates to our Governors. Three weeks ago Governor Lingle came to our school library to read to our younger students.
It was Catholic School Week and we were promoting literacy. Governor Lingle was absolutely wonderful with the children. She read "Ruby, In Her Own Time" and then stayed quite a while to answer the students'questions.
As she was leaving the Principal brought her by my desk to see all the photos of President and Mrs. Bush. She shared with us some of her feelings about the Bush family. She said, "The more you are around them the more you see what really decent people they are."
Then she asked me to wait a moment because she had something for me out in her car. She returned with her 2005 Inaugration ticket! You can imagine how excited I was.
Anyway, my dear husband has had it framed and it is now hanging in our library along with all the Presidential calendars. I told the Governor that she made my year!

No I had not heard about it but trains do get vandalized sometimes probably north Kent I am in South East Kent. Graffiti is also another problem occasionally with trains. On the whole Ashford is pretty OK apart from the so called refugees that wander about in 3s.

Just heard on local TV about the smashing of train windows, as I suspected it was in North Kent. It is estimated about £10,000.00 worth of damage plus of course disastrously disrupting the train schedule especially for the London Commuters.

I figured you would get wind of it at some point...what a shame, just destruction for destruction's sake.
Someone needs to get a new hobby, seems to me!

You are quite right pointless but then those who do not have a faith and or solid family do not have much direction in their lives or feeling of self worth.
We are reaping the results of the so called free love and flower power days of the 60s and 70s the children born during that time are now the today's parents.

Hi snugs.
I saw your pictures of your street and front of your house. Nice neighborhood, nice houses. I like orange earth-colored brick.
I also saw some of your posts on the Liz Cheney to State Dept. today. Good grief, forget DU, there are some weird, sick, know-it-all people on this message board, aren't there? Those people are living in the dark ages, but they definitely believe they know what's right for other people---people and families whose lives they know nothing about and don't know the people themselves. It's sickening, really.
You did your best, but it usually is just butting your head against a brick wall. I find it doesn't accomplish anything except make me mad, so I don't usually even try.

The bricks apparently were from the local brickwork's that were around 100 years ago long since gone but at least our houses have made it part of the living history of this area.
Yes I remember those posts on Liz Cheney (Perry) there was one poster that got me really mad but as you say you just end up hitting your head against a brick wall. I respect people's points of view regarding working mothers etc but at the end of the day different things work for different families. The other one that got me was when a couple of them were inferring she was not qualified for the job which was just plain stupid when you just read the brief resume that is readily available let alone what the detailed one must be.
Anyway less of the ranting, trust you have had a good day hope to catch you later.

Yeah, sometimes we have to remember there's nothing to stop a bunch of blithering morons from getting on this board and getting argumentative and nasty about anything and everything. And that's obviously what happens on some threads sometimes. A few of the posters on that thread were complete Neanderthals, and it's totally impossible to argue with a Neanderthal.
