Yes he did say that but all have fallen short of the glory of God and no man is righteous in God's eyes. Wow, I'm glad the Bible also states that God loved us even while we were still sinners to send His Son as a sacrifice. I am not condoning her behavior but the people we should love the most are our enemies. I'm not exactly sure how showing a family member unconditional love as Christ showed us is 'bending God's Word to fit their family members' sinful lifestyles'. How is tough love showing the love of Christ? Of course it isn't but we can't let something simple like a commandment by Jesus Christ get in the way of what a GOP platform plank is now can we? Easier to show tough love than unconditional love. Of course those that preach 'tough love' (an unBiblical principle) don't exactly explain how we are supposed to show Christ's love to those with whom we disagree, if by showing 'tough love' we are not associating with said family member.

You do not bend God's Word to gain party favor. I'm quite suprised so many 'Christians' are absolutely gleeful about a man disowning his daughter instead of praying for the whole family. Disowning one's own family member is neither Christian or conservative. But it's evident it's quite the Republican thing to do..What's next? Hunting down every family member who we feel is not living the Christian lifestyle and show them tough love? "Gleeful"? Where do you see that?

"Disowning"? You believe refusing to condone a sinful lifestyle and not paying for college is disownment?

Perhaps you should take your own advice.

"Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him, for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple." (1 Cor. 3:17)
That's why you can't trot out that old "I'm OK, you're OK," '60s cannard. God is judging us on how we use or abuse our bodies, because that shows whether we worship Him or our own sinful flesh. Knowing this, Christians speak out when others have offended God. If a blind and deaf man is walking on a railroad track, and you see a train coming, the loving thing to do is knock him out harm's way. He may scream and be hurt in the process, but you have saved him. This is the responsibility of Christians who are called on to "love your neighbor as much as you love yourself." It's part of bearing the cross for Christ because you will certainly be vilified for speaking God's truth to fellow sinners. Obviously, the Church is failing horribly in this task today.
