"Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him, for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple." (1 Cor. 3:17)
That's why you can't trot out that old "I'm OK, you're OK," '60s cannard. God is judging us on how we use or abuse our bodies, because that shows whether we worship Him or our own sinful flesh. Knowing this, Christians speak out when others have offended God. If a blind and deaf man is walking on a railroad track, and you see a train coming, the loving thing to do is knock him out harm's way. He may scream and be hurt in the process, but you have saved him. This is the responsibility of Christians who are called on to "love your neighbor as much as you love yourself." It's part of bearing the cross for Christ because you will certainly be vilified for speaking God's truth to fellow sinners. Obviously, the Church is failing horribly in this task today.

Good grief. I never 'trotted' that out. Listen very carefully. I.....disapprove....of...the....daughter's.....lifestyle. It....is.....a.....sin. However, for the father to 'disown' the daughter (as the headline states) is just as much of a sin. Christ did not teach tough love. Christ taught us to love our enemies.

That's the spirit!! Try to equalize a blind man walking down the railroad tracks to a man disowning his daughter. Tell me o wise one. Where exactly is the daughter going to see the love of Christ if the father cuts the daughter off, pushing her even further away? Maybe we can hope she'll see a 700 Club broadcast or something like it one day? Or perhaps with the new 'friends' Keyes has pushed her into the arms of they will be able to speak about the love of Christ? I really doubt that. Well, no matter, she'll get some form of love from them right? And when she grows up she can look back on this and see that her father really did have her best interests in mind...

I would comment on this statement however you are twisting it so much to condone your 'tough love' that Christ never spoke of, it would really be useless to even do so. It's quite evident you wouldn't understand

Obviously, the Church is failing horribly in this task today.

No what the church is evidently failing in is to 'love our enemies'. I never said to condone her actions. I never said I approved of her actions. However, I also have never seen 'tough love', an unBiblical principle, work. Or perhaps you could explain to me in Christ's parable why the father gave the prodigal son his entire inheritance to do with it as he saw fit and still accept him back afterwards. That's not tough love, that's unconditional love. Willing to love, and yet not condone the action, the sinner through the sin and willing to accept them back when they realize where they are as they realize who has been showing them true love throughout
