Police have uncovered new evidence in the decades old BTK Wichita serial killer case and are questioning a person of interest, according to sources close to the investigation.
Authorities scheduled a news conferece for 11AM Eastern Saturday to make an announcement in the case, and relatives of the killers victims would be briefed beforehand.
Some police sources have said that a 59 year old man was arrested Friday and linked to the case by a DNA sample.
Surveillance activites gave police 'their first big piece' of recent evidence, leading authorities to a vehicle and the person of interest.
Investigators also searched a house in the Wichita suburb of Park City Friday, siezing computer equipment.

It bothered me, too. I wouldn't go giving out high-fives when it took over 20 years to catch a serial killer who lived a few doors down from one of his victims. The Boulder police still have time to turn in a better time then these Keystoners.
I believe that the daughter graduated college in 2001. She's 26 and probably working.
I do not believe in this wild speculation.

I just saw that, too...which is interesting b/c as early as mid-evening west coast time last night when we were discussing this on the earlier thread here, I had seen someone say over on Kansas.com say that the wife's parents were released but no one seemed to know about her...heck, if I were her, I might want to stay somewhere protected...I can't imagine where she could go that she wouldn't be either completely harassed (whether or not she had ANY idea of what was going on, never mind any involvement). I hope the kids are somewhere with a whole lot of support...especially now that at least one of the stories is that the daughter had a huge role in this.

I'd sooner think the mother got suspicious and the daughter was called in to give DNA since the mother's wouldn't be of any value. Daughter might have instigated the police contact (she was not living at home) instead of the mother (who was living in the house)to keep the mother safe.
