Dman. I got a mini for xmas. If Apple doesn't fix the problem this will be a disaster for them. I couldn't believe they wanted 255 dollars to "refurbish" the ipod! What an incredible ripoff.

Shame on WCBS. Their report is incomplete. The batteries are available from third parties and are user-replaceable.

Current rate for battery replacement is under $100. In either event, there is no possible way to make a rechargable battery that doesn't little it's ability to hold a charge, with each subsequent charge.
