But you did not tell me what % of Ipod users you think are capable of replacing this battery. Seriously, consider the hundreds of thousands of ditsy college Ipod users and generally technically inept people in th world.

Well if your talking about all the liberal students at these schools then I might have to agree with you on that. Of course I talk to sales clerks all day trying to run their store register systems and they might have a problem with it as well. Point well taken. LOL

To be completely fair, how many of these same people are capable of replacing the battery in their car? Some barely manage to drop fresh AAs in the TV remote when it stops working.

Batteries are like any other object - they have a limited lifespan and eventually have to be replaced. Even players not made by Apple will have to have new batteries installed one day. How long do the batteries last in those models?
