The only thing Microsoft does well is make the simple complex.
Some people enjoy confusion!
:-P
That's everything Apple does in a nutshell.
I got a Creative Nomad Jukebox 40GB for... I forget but it was a lot cheaper than the iPod. I've just never thought Apple was so much better than the competition to pay the extra money for their shi-ite.
Orangelobster is right, the latest minis do not come with the adapter. Go to Apple.com store and read what's "in the box".
I just received the U2 edition for Christmas and it DID come with the adapter, however!
Perhaps Apple is trying to keep the prices on the mini down so they are not including it. It's about $100 less than the basic iPod, although it holds far less songs. The value on the larger ones is much better, although you don't get the adorable color choices!
I received the Bose Sound Dock for the iPod for my birthday and it is outstanding!
Your filters are malfunctioning. There is no 'cult'. Apple has gone mainstream and people like you are working off a page from 1993. Your loss.
Bose Sound Dock - I'll check it out. Thanks.
"This is worse than basketball shoes, monster truck/NASCAR favoritism, or even professional wrestling fanaticism."
yeah, I'll agree with that. I'm a little surprised over the hysteria generated over a hard drive in a plastic shell. I don't really care what players people buy for themselves.
They only thing that rankles me is the idea that Apple is making an effort (though fortunatly not successful) to corner the market on music sales on the internet through their i-tunes store by designing the i-pod firmware to block out the other major online distributors like napster, wal-mart, rhapsody and buy.com. It's vertical integration at it's worst. Rhapsody in particular seems to have the most open software. Creative, Rio and I-River players are the most flexible.
This has been known for a long time. The charge to replace the batteries is about $250. Only Apple can do so.
Seems like someone had an external battery device you could plug into the 'charger' port. I don't recall who that was. But that required carrying around the Ipod and the battery device.
I just did a search for Bose Sound Dock. Is there a model for a car stereo? I don't see that.
"No, he didn't say iPod mini, he said iPod. That's the bone of contention. "
You're a fascinating specimen.
Apple support says you cannot change them. Apparently some folks are doing it anyway?
I just installed a new iLife and iWork and I am having so much fun with Pages!
I had a real problem with my upgrade to iPhoto5 though. I lost my whole library and had to reload it file by file!
Oh, sorry. I didn't read as closely. One comes with it, the other doesn't! Like I said, but for the cute colors, the 20gb or higher is a much better value for the money, anyway!
I don't think so but there is an FM adapter that fits right into the top that allows you to play it through a radio.
There is also a voice recording device which fits on the top and lets you record voice memos right onto the iPod.
There is even a music trivia game which uses your playlist. It's like "name that Tune". Fun for downtime in a waiting room or on a plane or something.
The Bose Quiet Comfort headphones are wonderful with it, but bulky. I find the earbuds that come with the ipod uncomfortable.
You're in denial. Seek professional help.
Apple support says you can't, but that's not true.
I can't tell you how many things I've seen with "no user-serviceable parts inside" stamped on the case. Tain't necessarily so.
And it might not if
you see the company still
does dubious things.
I'm almost willing to believe that Apple is behind the 18 month/$250 battery replacement story/movie.
It sure makes their $99 replacement seem reasonable to the dimwitted.
