What is the picture you paint of a young conservative? hat about your idea of a young liberal? The ideas that most people would visualize are far off. Today, Republican young people not only exist, they are more different than you would imagine.

I'm moving to Chicago in the fall (from Iowa).
On one hand I'm depressed that I will be surrounded by rabid liberals.
On the other, it means that I may have a good chance of making a difference in the Republican party.

Believe me, you WILL be surronded by rabid liberals. My commute to and from work simply amazes me. Even after 15 years. I hope to retire early and skate away from this mess of a city.

Did you see the issue of Chicago magazine where they broke down political party contributions by neighborhood?
My fiance was the ONLY Republican contributor in his neighborhood.
On election night, a woman got on the train (redline) with a bag of Kerry pins. The people went apesh*t. One girl said "can I have one for my boyfriend, he'd love one". I was the only one on the car who said "no thank you, I'm voting for Bush". You can imagine the absolute hateful stares my way.

Move to DuPage county outside Chicago, largest Republican county. I don't think we had any dems on the ballot on election day where I live - republicans run uncontested for just about all offices here. During the election if anyone dares to put up dem signs they disappear overnight it's the funniest thing to see! I hate to be in a blue state, we're not all blue here in IL -
