You're more than welcome to make your own choice.
Terri has not been shown to have made a choice.
Someday you might get it that this is an attack on
the disabled, who are costing the healthcare system
a great deal of money.
Name one person who has been dehydrated to death
that left in writing wishes for that to happen.
Just one.

I heard a blip here in Oregon on the news that Terri's folks get to have some tests done in this "grace" period that might turn this whole thing around.

You know I wish the negative "don't get it posters" would stop testing our patience around here.

Terri has not been shown to have made a choice.

Mr. Schiavo has testified regarding her request of him, and it was decided in the judicial system. So yes, the choice was shown.

Someday you might get it that this is an attack on the disabled, who are costing the healthcare system a great deal of money. I have spent quite a bit of time with many online communities of disabled activists (not so much as in the past, but enough to know)...

...Let me clue you in on something that I thought you would have realized from professional experience that you've implied: persons with disabilities are individuals, not just some monolithic bloc. That stereotyping and ignoring of individual rights seems to be the trademark of the "save Terri" crowd.

Remember that everyone reading this could become disabled at any point. This is relevant to all. And if our rights are trampled, how does it benefit anyone?

The fact is that many people with disabilities live their lives in a constant fight to have their needs and wishes understood and respected....and many are scared that when they can't even speak for themselves, this can only get even worse--so it's urgent that we learn to respect peoples' preferences on their end care!

Name one person who has been dehydrated to death that left in writing wishes for that to happen.

After you name one person who wished to enter a Persistent Vegetative State...in writing, of course. Or who wished to be in Mrs. Schiavo's condition, regardless of PVS.

Otherwise, have a torch for your strawman. I personally believe we should have a much more humane way for someone to pass...but too many zealots block civilized methods, so we must go back to what nature does. But is morphine really too much to ask?
