That quote is one of the reasons that thinking people have dismissed her as an intellectual lightweight. The idea that anyone should be converted to Christianity by force is in itself, counter to Christianity.

You know, I don't see where she says to convert others "by force"!
I'm getting really tired of people twisting that quote of hers.

I would suggest that thinking people would realize that nowhere in that quote does she advocate conversion by force.

She didn't say a thing about converting by force. Removing their tyrants first, is obviously necessary to even get the opportunity. You read in the sins you wish to ascribe to her, which is deliberately uncharitable reading.

The idea that anyone should be converted to Christianity by force is in itself, counter to Christianity. That's true. However, the idea that we should send missionaries into a country after we have conquered it is not.
I can fully understand why anyone would read the quote as saying "convert them by force to Christianity" but it doesn't say that, and you aren't required to read it that way.
Shalom.

Correct. Forceful conversion is contrary to Christianity. There is no example of it in the Bible.
However, Ann in that quote does not say forcefully convert, but merely convert. Forceful conversion is something that is read into the quote.
