Scuse me fella, but first of all, Terri has God IN HER. She doesn't have to wait for heaven, she has relationship NOW. Secondly, spritual harm isn't caused at all because her faith is STRONG. The Holy Spirit sustains her and there is NOTHING anybody can do to stop that. All is well with her soul and we can't harm a thing. God is the giver of her faith, and God is the sustainer of her faith.

If you are waiting for death to be with God rather than cultivating relationship with him now...you will have waited in vain. If you don't have it in life, you never will.

I agree Prairie Lady. You are absolutely right. Terri had Jesus in her and with her when she was dying.

I have no doubt that she was being comforted by Jesus because she laughed when she heard his name.

Terri is special. She is now a martyr in heaven.

Her death will not be in vain because through her starvation and dehydration a lot has been done to highlight the distress of the relatives of people all over the world who are facing similar conflicts.

I think it is appropriate to think of Theresa Schindler, as well as Pope John Paul II, as the patron saints of the disabled.

I don't know about sainthood of Mrs. Schiavo, but her case DID expose quite clearly that there are many people who would interfere in a disabled person's life and block their wishes. The Schindlers admitted that they would have ignored their daughter's wishes (even if they had been in writing), for example, as did many others.

The disabled have a hard enough time getting their needs respected when they are able to express them and fight for them--it's scary to think we might not have our needs respected when we can't fight for them ourselves.

I just hope conservatism doesn't have to pay the price in fighting off the anti-rights zealots!
