Calling this a "right to die" case is absurd-it's a "right to kill" case.
Ping. Attorney George Felos defends Michael Schiavo's adulterous relationship with Jodi Centonze.
Of course if he had divorced Terri, he would no longer be able to make decisions for her!
Not to mention the 2 million dollars
Geez, I hope that if something happens to me like this that my DH doesn't try and kill me and doesn't go and get another family, I know I wouldn't. I take my vows seriously!
We all know where he comes from.
Now we have made a lot of "progress" and such husbands are no longer restrained by government force, common decency, morality (can Black Elk use that word in public????). Instead of being husbands in the conventional sense, they husband the medical malpractice millions, find a cause-oriented lawyer to help propagandize and assist in the effort to get court permission for murder and, meanwhile, Terri's husband lives with his live-in lover by whom he has fathered (in the physical sense) two children. The live-in is apparently smart enough not to agree yet to marriage lest she wind up like Terri.
Michael Schiavo and his ilk ought to be socially shunned by any and all sensible women. If any find him irrestible, they should resist marrying him and designate a pro-lifer without financial interest as attorney-in-fact in a "living will" and in a durable medical power-of-attorney.
When can we have our civilization back??????
I think what bothers me is more the fact that he's trying like crazy to make his former wife DEAD.
If he would have just divorced Terry and gotten a fricking life already, none of us would even be talking about this.
Actually, this points to one thing I don't quite understand: The whole reason this is even a legal issue is that, as Terry's husband, he has "guardianship" over her, and this gives him some kind of legal status to speak on her behalf, to say things like "she wants to be dead". Correct?
But so why the heck doesn't the affair and kids with another woman cast his guardianship into question? Why doesn't it disqualify him? Why doesn't it represent a conflict of interest?
For that matter, he's a guardian who is vigorously arguing that he ought to be allowed to dehydrate and starve to death the person in his custody. Why isn't that considered abuse of a form that disqualifies him from being her guardian? If I were to go to court and make arguments that I should be allowed to starve/dehydrate my kid, or you yours, our kids would be taken away and placed in other care.
My solution in this case would be to remove him as her guardian as being a prima facie threat to her safety, and place her in the care of some other willing/able guardian. Her parents, for example.
Simple.
So what am I missing?

What are you missing? He wants BOTH the other woman and Terri's money.
MICHAEL SCHIAVO should be categorized as a person of interest in the DCF hush hush investigation. There are other persons of interest of course; judge, lawyers, Hospice, law enforcement. THIS IS A MAJOR DISCRIMINATION CASE. MAJOR. Greer is over if he rules today for the tube to come out. So over in Pinellas County. IMPEACHMENT PETITIONS ARE BEING SIGNED AT A NICE CLIP. The Florida House is charged with impeachment duties. There is PROBABLE CAUSE TO impeach one of the judges in this mangling of a human being's liberties.
Awww, he is turning his attempt to murder his wife and having children while married into a selfless act. How wonderful of him. *rolls eyes*
George Felos, defending the indefensible ...
From my perspective, I don't see law enforcement as someone to run to if I'm in danger. THEY HAVE BEEN INDOCTRINATED to the left wing agenda that Terri's a vegetable and that we are all right wing religious nuts. They LAUGH AT TERRI AT ROTARY LUNCHEONS IN CLEARWATER FLORIDA. That's your police dept. in Clearwater and Pinellas Park, Fl.
The last time we were faced with a court decision, wasn't it overheard that courthouse staff were taking bets on whether or not Terri's tube would be removed?
Personal friends with Felos? or? Not sure if I understand your response.
Hasn't there ever been a guardian or representative appointed for Terry by the courts? Maybe I missed it. But in many other contexts the courts appoint someone specifically to protect the interests of someone like her. Among other things, this has become a tug of war between the parents and the husband. Without knowing many details, I have a very low opinion of him.
