Ward Churchill (5th Columnist) Busted for Copyright Infringement, Plagiarism, assaults cameraman
CBS4, Denver Post, and Rocky Mountain News ^ | 2-24-2005 | CBS4 and Rocky Mountain News

Evidence has been found that 5th Columinst Ward Churchill copied a painting by reknown artist Thomas E. Mails

Churchill's Serigraph is a mirror image of the Miles painting.

Churchill made the serigraph in question in 1981 and called it "Winter Attack." He printed 150 copies and sold one of them to Duke Prentup for about $100.

On Video, confronting Churchill about the obvious copyright violation by CBS4 Reporter Raj Chohan, Churchill then attacked the cameraman filming the incident.

Also, Churchill claims he earned a Bachelors Degree and a Master Degree at the Sangamon State University in Illinois (where 5th Columinst were created) but school officials cannot locate his Master's Thesis. Colorado University regents expressed concerns that a person be appointed professor without a doctorate.

I beg to differ with you concerning Archie Belaney; he was not a fifth columnist nor an environmentalist.

He was a young man who left England at an early age --- about 18, and went to live with the Ojibwe of northern Ontario. He took up their way of life, which was very very hard, and learned the language, which was also difficult, and did not become convrned with 'the environment' until he married an Iroquois woman, who was the one who was concerned.

He was a trapper and hunter and he walked the walk. He only became 'famous' in his fifties.

And there was reason for concern; the beaver were being teapped out in the '30's.

Your information is almost completely incorrect.

Ward Churchill is a complete sociopath. People like this pop up all the time; and it's depressing to see how many of them find success through the force of sheer gall alone. If you read the writings of Churchill, it's clear that he's making it all up on the fly. His papers remind me of the papers I occasionally wrote in college when I had procrastinated too long and had to churn something out in three hours with no research.

I read Indian Country Today all of the time. (very good paper by the way.) I am part Chocktaw (Oklahoma) but, I do not claim to belong to that tribe. My grandmother was born on the reservation in Oklahoma Territory. From what I have been told, my great grandfather did not want any of his children to be stained(not my words) with indian blood. He was an indian agent there.

I have never claimed my indian hertitage. The reason why is because I cannot prove it. In fact I live in Humboldt County and I have many many friends that are Hupa, Yurok, Wyot and they consider me one of them. I have taken the time to learn my Chocktaw history however and I have tried to learn the native language. My granddaughter is half Klamath indian.

I think is disgusting that someone like Churchill get away with something like this. I was watching democracy now! and they had Churchill and Russell Means on and Mr. Means was defending this guy. From what I have been told by my native friends is that many many american indians do not accept AIM or their positions. And after reading an article in Indian Country Today by Patti Jo King, I think I am right about that.

anyway, my two cents worth. Bee

Nothing new or surprising here.

His is the face of academe in America. It's just the morning after the "mind opening" romp, their makeup is smeared all over the pillow, and this is what they really look like.

And I forgot to add, Archie Belaney (Grey Owl)did not have a drop of Indian blood.

BUT he adopted the culture and the lifestyle for many years, without making a fuss over himself, and I guarantee you life under the conditions of the sub-artic forests of the 30's was unbelieveably hard and required great skill and fortitude.

"Chruchill is a communist who justifies his lies in the interest of the "greater purpose."

"He is a complete phony."

Malfeasant Hypocrite is too good of a name for Ward Churchill. I *LUV* anti-capitalism/proMarxists like Ward Churchill who _capitalized_ on our capitalism-based, free enterprise economic system while screaming and preaching Karl Marx's anti-capitalism leftover cliches!

Concluding couplet for Indian exploiter Ward Churchill:

What more twist of Exquisite Irony is the inanity
of a self-exposed hypocrisy tainted with insanity.

Well as it happens, my own paternal grandmother was in fact half blood Cherokee- although I would never presume to trade on that fact or use it for such nefarious purposes as Ward Churchill has done. Does that make me one of the aforementioned '10 million assholes' or what?

My grandfather is part Cherokee. I would never attempt to claim that I am an American Indian. Churchill doesn't even look Indian. He is missing the high cheekbones, the coloring and his hair is hilarious!

"Where is Mikey Moore to save this speaker of truth from those who are lashing out and trying to silence this great American?!?!?!?!?! And Noam Chomsky, and Bill Maher???? Not to mention Bill Clinton, who said post-9-11 we were paying for the terrorism WE caused in our own past?? Stand up, you proud patriots, and defend your newest hero!"

AND, do not forget that champion of injustice - the ACLU!
(You know, the Christian logos chasers.)

Clinton, Chomsky, Maher should have reviewed Muslim history and its Terrorist past before justifying terrorist attacks.

Ever examine a golfball?

If you peel off the hard outter layer, the inside is a mess of rubber bands that break and stretch and unravel in a very odd way. On the very inside is a squisy rubbery glob of stinky goop.

It's a pretty accurate metaphor for Ward Churchill.

My son went to UC Boulder. I asked him if he had ever taken a class from this whacko. He said no, but there were many others that were equally as bad, or worse.
It is not an isolated incidence.
