Yesterdays commentary on the Joe Steffen-FreeRepublic.com story ended with a question. Why is no one asking questioning the identity of MD4BUSH? What to make of the odd freepers postings, his motivations, and his mysterious timing?
Today, fresh from a US District courts spanking in Gov Ehrlich vs. the Baltimore Sun. David Nitkin asks the same question-Who is MD4BUSH?
The Sun, still smarting from yesterdays loss-the court essentially ruling that Ehrlichs ban is not unconstitutional, should further investigate, and even more to the point-push Mike and Mike Busch/Miller to subpoena the postings. Jim Robinson, the owner of the web site says please But it wont happen because of what the Democrats are afraid to find; that maybe MD4Bush has close ties to the Democrats or OMalley, or Duncan.
The Sun could ask the question, who are these Democrats? What if the Democrats used "family values" tear jerking press conference to gain political advantage? Now thats a story. Will we ever see it in the Sun?
The Suns loss yesterday, however you may feel about Ehrlichs move, can be a positive thing. The Governors point was and is-report, not distort. (I sound Jesse Jackson.) Maybe the ban was a bad idea to go this long. After yesterdays decision, maybe the Governor will step back, having made his point.
Bu then again, why should anyone be forced to speak with someone they think is unfair? From the Judges decision-The Sun seeks a privileged status beyond that of the private citizen; that desire is not a cognizable basis for injunctive relief.
Look, the sun has some great writers and editors, and some not so great, an extremely biased editorial board, but most importantly, a declining circulation. Theres a reason. At the end of the day, the city that reads needs something worth reading-and the Baltimore Sun needs to rise to the occasion. Or the sun will surely set on those who refuse to see the light.
After trying to read that article, I'd say he's not even up to speed as an amateur writer. ;-)
Settle down, trigger.
If one cannot speak and/or write properly in Public, they should expect to be called out on it.
I'm not from the "2+2=5 because it feels good" school of math.
Chip Franklin and WBAL are LAZY.
Having listened to him a bit, I am not really sure whose "side" he is on. While I am willing to cut him some slack because I happen to agree with him on this issue, the article reads like a transcript of one of his monologues. I have had to turn his show off several times because he got on my nerves with some of his schtick.
Glad to hear someone say that; I thought I had come down with a bad case of dyslexia.
You can thank Dog - you don't have dylsexia!
Okay how about someone diagraming this out for us learning impaired.
Otherwise I ask you WTF is this all about?
This comment [below] was also on Chip Franklin's WBAL webpage and may explain a bit more of the situation. It reveals how a stranger to Free Republic would attempt to explain to his listeners what had occured here on a thread discussing rumors of infidelity by Baltimore's mayor.
It was posted before the one linked at the top of this thread.

Time to Turn The Question
The question was; what did Ehrlich know about Steffen, now the question is; when did OMalley and the Democrats know?
You know the story. The Washington Post broke it last week. An Ehrlich aide had been spreading rumors about OMalleys alleged infidelity. OMalley and his wife held a press conference at city hall and talked about how these rumors had affected their family. It was moving. How could the Governor do such a thing? Ehrlich refused to apologize, despite demands from many, including myself. But thats just part of the story.
Joe Steffen, the aide, is a longtime associate of Governor Ehrlich. He was fired when this story broke. Last fall, he was posting at Freerepublic.com, a conservative web site, speculating on rumors that OMalley was having and had had affairs. Sometime between last summer and last Tuesday, someone brought this to the attention of the Washington Post. (pt 1). Also while Steffen was posting, someone appeared on the site, MD4BUSH, who pushed and prodded to Steffen to tell more. Steffen and MD4Bush spoke in a private room (pt2) and exchanged thoughts about OMalley and again MD4Bush pushed and prodded Steffen. Who was MD4Bush?
Jump ahead to November when OMalley referred to rumors about himself. (pt3). The media didnt bite, since apparently no one except the Post knew about Steffens postings. But Rob Douglas and I received a tip that the Post was going to print with a damaging story about Ehrlich. It came from a Democratic insider. (pt4). And in the hours before the story broke, more tips that it was coming. It was going to really damage Ehrlich, said the source.
And then the story broke. Followed up ridiculous accusations that Ehrlich lied about ever hearing rumors, no one is asking the important question.
1-Who gave the story to the Post? It could only be Steffen, The free Republic, very unlikely, or MD4Bush.
2-Who is MD4Bush? If the Democrats knew about this as far back as August, when did OMalley know? How could the mayor have not been informed of Steffens actions back last fall? Why doesnt someone ask him?
3-and what if MD4BUSh is a Democrat with ties to OMalley? What does that say about the timing of his heart-pulling press conference? Where is the press on this?
What was the Baltimore Sun loss yesterday in court? Is there a Freeper article [www.freerepublic.com] article?
This comment by Franklin attacking BS probably led to the BS attack on Franklin that I pinged to you just a few minutes back.
Well, whom ever translated this out of it's original sandscrit should be commended for it's appearance of english, whilst lacking completely in coherence. Oh dam that Bill Gates and his auto translators.
