I was fed this "Silent Spring" crap in high school Biology.
May my life be set straight O Lord, that I may be used to impart substance to the next generation.
Rachel Carson is responsible for more deaths than Adolf Hitler. Mostly brown people, whose deaths do not matter to her followers.
BTTT
I can think of so many example of this kind of crap! Like the "highway of death" in PA, or the Texas homeowner prosecuted under wetlands laws for paving his driveway, or the time the Sierra Club took on the Pope and won the battle but lost the war, or barge traffic on some major southeastern river being shut down for a nonexistent theoretical sub-sub-species of freshwater sturgeon, or the Mexican spotted owl fiasco in N. New Mexico that produced near riots where they were burning environmentalists in effigy, and on and on and on! Many of these I read in the WSJ editorial page in the early to mid 90's. I just wish someone would collect these all.
This must be the 10th time I've seen a righteous rehash of the same study. It would be nice if somebody would post Edwards study itself so we could determine if it was crap or not and quit reprinting rehashes from suburban scribblers.
The closest I can get to that would be a couple of sub-forums at our Canadian sister site:
Fight Kyoto For the discussion of the Kyoto Accord and, in particular, Ezra Levant's new book, Fight Kyoto. |
Dr. Edwards was my undergrad advisor. Thanks.

Back in the 1950s, trucks would come through the neighborhood spraying DDT fog. All the kids would come out (I was one) and run through it. If it was that bad, you should have seen, by now, most residents of south Florida dead and gone from cancer a long time ago.
Headline and lead sentence are grossly misleading. There was no "fraud in science". The SCIENCE involved was honest and accurate. The FRAUD was the lies told by the eco-nutcases and their allies in the media and the bureaucracy, and the failure to make policy actually based on science.
Wow! This is great. Excellent expose. More ways we have been lied to.
See link below:
Lets try that again!
Actually, I'm usually the one crying junk science all the time but, in this case, the science says DDT should be banned.
Each year, the FDA tests vegetables from store shelves across the country.
Despite being banned for over 25 years, DDT is still the most common pesticide found on vegetables.
It seems this little chemical is about as persistent as they come. When nature doesn't break it down, it shouldn't be used.
Okay, so how many people died from eating veggies that had residual DDT? I'm betting not near as many as are dying from malaria and other diseases that DDT controlled.
