I once asked SW whether one can believe that the North was in the right during the Civil War and not be a "DamnYankee."

He's never given me a response.

That leads me to conclude that in SW's eyes, unless one agrees that the CSA was pure, noble and completely in the right and that the North was full of child-molesting war-criminals who wanted nothing more than to deflower every Southern maiden they came upon, then that person is by default a "DamnYankee."

What you said is correct. 'Stand' is a classic living example of a minor problem yet a boisterous one. We must recall diehard 'neo-confederates' exhibit cult like response to all questions pertaining to the Civil War. It's similar to reading off a script when making a comparative study on 'neo-confeds' posting statements on FR.

There are two factors involved with the 'neo-confederate' mindset. First, an examination of typical statements & response indicate serious generational issues which can only rectified through education for the younger ones if caught in a 'neo-confederate household.

The second point being is directed at those already totaly immersed in this extremist way of thinking. Total exposure & rejection of all hard-core 'neo-confederates' coupled with their printed material (propaganda) must continue from within the ranks of the GOP. There is already an existing effort underway in many states. A number of the worst 'neo-confeds' overlap into the more dangerous supremacist groups would be classified as independents or do not bother to even vote.

In the majority of states this element is either an unknown or treated as a bad joke, but if rigid secessionists & segregationists are discovered the image of the GOP in general is harmed since leftist Dems in the media will make noise attempting to tag every Republican as holding these adverse views.

i note that "m.eSPINola" has NOT apologized for his RACIST comment about American Indians culture & religious traditions.

neither has "modernman" apologized for questioning why i said it about m.eSPINola.

so once again, i'll give BOTH of you a chance to say,"I'M SORRY", but i won't hold my breath till either of you do. i fear neither of you are that BIG a person.

and once more, i'll point out to all:

SCRATCH a DAMNYANKEE & YOU'LL frequently FIND a RACIST.

frankly, i can't remember you asking me about honorable "Billy Yanks".

there were MANY "lads who wore the blue" who were DECENT & HONORABLE.

otoh, there were MANY hate-filled WAR CRIMINALS & scum, who also wore blue uniforms.

it would have been BETTER for EVERYONE,if all of them had stayed at home & left the CSA alone.
