Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Pro-life advocates have been closely following the light of Terri Schiavo, the disabled woman at the center of a national euthanasia controversy.
They were delighted at yesterday's news that a local judge had extended a stay preventing the removal of her feeding tube until additional legal questions can be examined.
"Thankfully, [Judge George Greer] has today seen fit to give [Terri] more time to live and her parents more time to defend her right to life," Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson said.
"The courts, including Judge Greer's, have no moral authority to cause a vulnerable, disabled person like Mrs. Schiavo to die due to dehydration -- which will be the result if her feeding tube is removed," Dobson added.
"Today a crisis has been averted, but only for 48 hours. Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is to be applauded for his promise to defend Mrs. Schiavo's life," Dobson said. "We pray that he, and those who stand with him, will be successful."
Mary Jane Owen, a longtime disability rights activist who has worked in Catholic circles to oppose assisted suicide and euthanasia, discussed the recent entrance of the Florida Department of Children and Families into the case.

I pray that justice comes to protect Terri from her unfaithful, homicidal husband, his corrupt, deceitful, greedy lawyer, and the Judicial Tyrants who oppresse the innocent and defenseless in Florida, including the evil Judge Greer and the horrific Florida Supreme Court.
By the grace of our Lord she will live out her days!
All eyes will be on what happens tomorrow.
I really hope that Judge Greer will see the error of his ways and that of others and save Terri's life.
Is there some reason why Terri's husband won't allow her parents to take over her care?
Other than he wants her dead so he can collect insurance money and easily re-wed his new significant other, I can't think of any. Oh, yeah, it's the principle of the thing: He knows that she really wants to die.
Hopefully, the Fla authorities whose job it is to PROTECT disabled vulnerable people from abuse and neglect will FINALLY learn the truth about what has been going on here. Sheeeeeesh already.
It is against the law to withhold food and water from animals in every state but people like Terri can be starved to death and the state is participating.
I am a little disappointed in Dobson. Where is the outrage? A little righteous anger/indignation is in order here IMHO.
Her feeding tube is for all technical purposes no different than a colostomy bag. ("food in" for one; "waste out" for the other.) Shall we kill all of those patients, too?
Yeah, that was my sense of it, too. I just thought maybe I missed something else somewhere.
That "knowing she wants to die" bit, well, isn't that hearsay?
I wonder if Sarah Scantlin ( http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1349418/posts?page=77#77 ) had an influence on Greer? Do you suppose the man actually might have a heart after all?
I am praying and Praise the Lord, for doing whatever He did to save Terri's life so far.
"Oh LORD, let your power be known to those who mock you--and try to kill Terri. May they know your power, and see your hand in saving her life. May they turn from their sin, and turn their eyes to you. Glory and honor be yours! Thank you! In the name of Jesus I pray."
Yes, it is hearsay, by at the very least, a compromised witness.
A court appointed guardian for Terri said as much in 1998.
I wrote out his reply in this post:

Pastor I said the same thing in the following post:

Thanks, tuckrdout. Appreciate the link...
I pray that we, including Terri herself, see her as a spiritual being in the image and likeness of God. She is complete, perfect, pure, whole and eternal.
Terri ping! If anyone would like to be added to or removed from my Terri ping list, please let me know by FReepmail!
Thank you. I thought you might like to see this tribute to a predecessor of Terri's, Robert Wendland.
Bump!
I posted a couple of days ago a link to testimony for the malpractice case in which Michael Schiavo stated she wanted to live. This is a legal document. It was also stated by the girlfriend in an interview that he had told her (again hearsay), "How the hell should I know what she would want, we never talked about that...we were young". Was also accompanied by many loving pictures of them outside with her in her motorized wheelchair (which mysteriously he never used after and didn't allow her to be taken out). After he got the check it again, mysteriously came to him that her wishes were to die. Hmmmm......coincidence...I think not.
