Stick around, Tom; it's one a small group trying to draw attention to themselves.

Stay safe. Drive carefully. I'd love to share this mild, blue, sunny, 35 degree day of mine.

What if he is placed on a respirator and someone has to decide to take him off? What is the Catholic Stance on this? Can the Pope be on a respirator for months or years?

I said it last time. We are heading into new territory.

This saddens me deeply. I'm old enough to have lived through three popes: Pius XII, John Paul I (the smiling Pope), and John Paul II.

Didn't you miss a Pope
The one that died shortly after being elected

For anyone that's interested - Sky News has said that the operation is because the Pope is suffering from congestion in his lungs, and because of Parkinsons, he hasn't the muscle strength to cough to relieve it.

Those who are less inclined to be charitable - the man is suffocating. It's a terrible situation. Be respectful.

Regards, ivan

To: uncbob; Inspectorette

Inspectorette, if you remember Pope Pius XII, then you should also remember Pope John XXIII and Pope Paul VI.

I would be EXTREMELY surprised if the Pope has not already given consent not to keep him on extraordinary life support.

We are heading into new territory.

This may have been anticipated. I believe the RCC allows for DNR instructions to be followed.
