I believe Rep. Brian Duprey (R-Hampden) has actually used his powers wisely here. He is creating a quandry for the liberals.
You may be right.
I don't want to give Duprey credit if this is not his intention, but it could very well be.
Consider what would happen if this law passed: the precedent would be established that there exist children who, because of their innate qualities, have a right to life that completely supersedes, and criminalizes, the right to an abortion.
Thus, we have abortion on demand, because it is a woman's right, but if the child to be born is going to be gay, homosexual rights-to-life exceed and completely cancel women's rights to reproductive choice.
This will now have to be debated.
And the pro-abortion crowd will have to say that women have the right to selectively kill gay children, because abortion rights are absolute.
Of course that debate won't happen.
What will happen, instead, is a focused ad hominem campaign against Duprey.
8 posts to find a smart one.
That is exactly corrrect.
It took till post 8 for someone to figure it out.
I have often presented that argument to homosexuals (in political forums, chat rooms), and it drives them up a wall.
"Assuming a 'gay gene' exists, would you still be 'pro-coice' if the mother chose abortion simply because the child had the 'gay gene?'"
That question drove them NUTS!!
