Camp Casey soldier baffled by anti-war letters from Brooklyn sixth-graders

A New York City school official, red-faced over Brooklyn sixth-graders who slammed a GI with anti-Iraq-war letters, said Tuesday they are sending the 20-year-old private a letter of apology.

Deputy Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina plans to personally contact Pfc. Rob Jacobs and his family, a spokeswoman told the New York Post.

Teacher Alex Kunhardt had his students write Jacobs as part of a social studies assignment.

He declined to comment on whether he read the rants before passing them along, but said he planned to contact Jacobs soon to explain.

In an accompanying letter to Jacobs, Kunhardt said the students “come from a variety of backgrounds and political beliefs, but unanimously support the bravery and sacrifice of American soldiers around the world.”

“Support” was not the word that came to Jacobs’ mind when he read the letters, the Post noted.

One girl wrote that she believes Jacobs is “being forced to kill innocent people” and challenged him to name an Iraqi terrorist, concluding, “I know I can’t.”

Uplifting letters from children are dear to soldiers, Jacobs said. He looks at a batch he got from a Girl Scout troop from his hometown of Middletown, N.J., whenever he feels lonely.

Jacobs said he would welcome a letter from the Department of Education and the teacher.

“I want to think these letters were coached by the teacher or the parents of these children,” Jacobs told the Post from Camp Casey, South Korea. “It boggles my mind that children could think this stuff.”

I find it refreshing to read the remarks of this soldier. His folks raised a fine young man.

To bad the 6th grade kids, parents aren't doing the same in their homes.

True. Lie-beral parents and a leftist teacher were behind this outrage.

Uh...the article declines to mention whether these were sent intentionally to this young man.

I thought you couldn't send letters "To any soldier." Someone knew him...what gives?

My response to the little girl would be, "The name Al-Zarqawi comes immediately to mind."

NEW YORK CITY | MARCH 5
Bet me this teacher was at this rally:

Educators to Stop the War

http://www.internationalsocialist.org/calendar.shtml

A conference for K through graduate school unionists, educators, students and activists who oppose the war in Iraq and want to gather forces to build a stronger, more confident antiwar movement, and to challenge the war in many venues: unions, schools and colleges, classrooms and the streets. Sponsored by U.S. Labor Against the War.

I caught a bit of Hannity with a mother of one of the girls in that classroom defending the letters .. The father of the soldier was on air at the same time. He showed a lot more class and restraint than I would have with that insolent leftie.

Monique, a democrat just didn't see that much wrong with it was the essence of her pitch, except she admitted maybe the teacher could have used better judgment. Originally the letters were never intended to be sent, but the teacher than made that happen a few days later after asking the kids if they wanted to send them of as well.

America, can't you smell the rot in the classrooms as agendas are pushed and even 'well-informed' parents, which is what Monique claimed to be, are too stupid to recognize them as such?

A lie. He read them. Errors had been corrected. Does anyone think this evil puke would not have read them, as a serial murderer collects trophies from his victims.

[In an accompanying letter to Jacobs, Kunhardt said the students “come from a variety of backgrounds and political beliefs, but unanimously support the bravery and sacrifice of American soldiers around the world.” ]

A lie, clouded in Leftist claptrap and dogma. This scum obviously passed his ideology over to his captive students, and they obediently regurgitated his leftist bile.

In a just world, this vile bastard would be hauled into the street by WE THE PEOPLE, tarred and feathered, branded on the forehead with a red "T", and run out of town.

The GI's dad was interviewed on a Dallas talk-radio station yesterday. I think I remember him saying someone (maybe the principal) at the school knew him and knew he had a son in Iraq and a teacher there wanted to know if the students could write to him.
It sounded pretty intentional to me.

the soldiers should write the little dips back and tell them
that when enemies next come to attack us that they will not do anything to defend these kids that wrote the letters or their families. See how they like that ;^)

No doubt they wrote exactly the type of letter their teacher told them to write. These are the same kind of teachers that bus children to left-wing rallies during school time.

"Well, young lady, we're killing them as fast as we can. God willing, you will never know one who is still alive."

Right, so this 6th grader came up with this all by her little self. I'm sure.

It is despicable that these children were allowed to harass and insult soldiers in any way. Their parents and the school administrators should be ashamed and embarrassed, and any of them who will not apologize, deserves to be ridiculed.

At least when these kids get into high school, it'll be the left-over hippie liberals they'll be rebelling against (except the conformist squares, ironic...).
