Indeed the White House should be embarrassed this yahoo got a pass. The fact he's getting one from the likes of Coulter, et al., as part of some attempt to expose the hypocrisy of the left (amid a scandal of the hypocritical right), is ludicrous.

Yes, it is strange that some of the R's bomb-throwers are defending him by showing the hypocracy card. That's the wrong way to do things, IMO.

Liberals rarely strike me as very happy at all. Life's kinda grim when you bear the weight of the world -- and your Gay-Womyn-Black-Lesbo Pride -- on your shoulders all the time. It's a pity. I'm sure most are well intentioned and have good hearts. I will say I admire the way they rarely, if ever, compromise their "values" in the same way the "personally opposed, but" conservatives do.

I suppose so. The top senior Democrat leader is a krazy Ku Klux Klan guy.

Damn! BillF pings me to a thread written by my third favorite Conservative babe, Ann Coulter, (my first two being tgslTakoma and Askel5) and I have to deal with all this biting sarcasm. Pointing in the direction of Ann no less!

Beth, you're spot on. What incentive would anyone have in turning a new leaf if they were made to continue to suffer for long past trangressions.

Askel, you're right that if your past isn't sqeaky clean then you'd better not call attention to yourself at high-profile WH press briefings.

Ann is right that the liberals are being hypocritical in the sense that:

  1. Liberals have little or no constraints on their own behavior.
  2. Conservatives attempt to promote high standards of behavior.
  3. No one is perfect and will transgress from time-to-time.
  4. Liberals are rarely if ever persecuted. - Michael Jackson is innocent because he can dance and sing.
  5. Conservatives are always persecuted. - Rush is drug addict. Bennett is addicted to gambling.
Double standard. I believe that is the major thrust of the article.

Group hug!

I went away from this thread a couple days ago, only to return and find the same bilious, acid-filled, viperous, pseudo-intellectual poseur (askel5) spouting faux-conservative insults at all and sundry, while failing to ever offer an alternative position. Perhaps that tagline, a very pretentious statement that cannot mean what it is claimed to say, should be changed to read, "All of you in there, just SHUT UP!"

I do not psychoanalyze. But there is sufficient material here, that a trained practitioner of the discipline could make several conclusive statements.

And here I have been wasting all my reservoirs of dislike and irritation on the wrong targets before.

2282 If suicide is committed with the intention of setting an example, especially to the young, it also takes on the gravity of scandal. Voluntary co-operation in suicide is contrary to the moral law.

Grave psychological disturbances, anguish, or grave fear of hardship, suffering, or torture can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide.

Any day now, Matthews will devote entire shows to exposing Larry Zeigler, Gerald Riviera and Michael Weiner – aka Larry King, Geraldo Rivera and Matthews' former MSNBC colleague Michael Savage.

Guckert isn't hard to pronounce correctly, but I certainly understand Michael Savage's name change.

Somehow The Weiner Nation just wouldn't beat the same drum!

I think I've been right before, but I may be wrong about that.

Ann is actually an attractive woman. Please do your best to post a photo that does her justice.

That has got to be the most unbecoming angle -- all of 'em -- of the woman ever captured on film.

She has her plusses and minuses as do we all. I was at work, and really didn't have the time to be particularly discriminating in my choices, but will try to do better next time.

Regards!

Since this forum, republicans and conservatives doesn't use "gay" as a defining or demonizing the opposition, I thought I would pass this along from one of this mornings threads:

They already have their own labels... Pillow Biters, fudge packers... perpetual adolecent...

The debate was that liberals use the "gay card" as trump proving that they are hypocrites vs conservatives use it too when it bolsters their argument. This was an example of that occuring. There are others everyday here and on other conservative forums and outlets. Both sides use that trump card when they best believe it will belittle and bedevil the other side.

The debate was

Yes I know .. just as I know that it is being copied and paste to another forum

As for that comments .. there will always be some that make comments like that ..

It does not give the right to stalk and destroy a person and threat family members .. regardless of the life style in question

I'm not sure which forum or forums you are speaking of....and yet you're right, it doesn't make it right for anyone, right or left to stalk another person or their family. BTW, I've never actually heard what the stalking or threats were and if you have the examples, then I would appreciate being brought up to date on that. I do not support any group or individual doing that.

I think the other issue is republicans/conservatives always say that character matters. But the conservative/republican defense of Gannon/Guckert makes me wonder if character matters or if being a character is ok.
