I think the other issue is republicans/conservatives always say that character matters. But the conservative/republican defense of Gannon/Guckert makes me wonder if character matters or if being a character is ok.

The guy was stalked .. threatened .. lost his job and destroyed

Lost his job? He said he resigned. And he to the best of my knowledge has never really explained the stalking (other than bloggers linking the dots) or the threats. If he was physically stalked or physically threatened by anyone, then it's wrong. There are also many examples of conservatives threatening (physically or through intimidateion and usually fanatical christian)and if you're using the connect the dots bloggers, look what we did to out Iraq weapons inspector (Ritter). And in his case, rightly so.

Do I want more blood? Not my desire or point. Dissassociate ourselves from those who lack personal integrity and character? Of that I am guilty.

Yes he did .. explained how he, family members and friends were receiving phone calls

As for Ritter .. I believe he was arrested twice for trying to pick up young teenage girls
