"Does he mean the fortune he was hoping to make is not materializing like he thought..."

That and he's probably being shunned big time, not to mention receiving nasty letters, emails and phone calls.

The sons of Noah who went forth from the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan. These three were the sons of Noah; and from these the whole earth was peopled. Noah was the first tiller of the soil. He planted a vineyard; and he drank of the wine, and became drunk, and lay uncovered in his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it upon both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father; their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father's nakedness. When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, he said, "Cursed be Canaan; a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers." He also said, "Blessed by the LORD my God be Shem; and let Canaan be his slave. God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his slave." After the flood Noah lived three hundred and fifty years. All the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years; and he died. (Genesis 9:18-29)

Yeah, and what does this "to find the best way to vet these tapes" mean? WTF is he 'vetting' the tapes for?

Stupid b.s. This sounds like a Dan Rather non-retirement retirement. And I bet the charity ends up being whatever church he preaches at.

That sounds pretty decent of him.

He's still an arse. The damage has been done. The MSM kow know about the tapes and will demand to hear all of them from whoever has them. Wead may be having second thoughts but the fact is he betrayed his friend.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff & Sr. Counselor to the President Karl Rove planned the leak of the tapes to make President Bush appear more 'human' prior to the Social Security & Tax Reform debates and upcoming Supreme Court vacancies....

That sounds pretty decent of him. If it turns out to be true, we are called to forgive others' trespasses.

It sounds to me like the media in their "zeal to be first" took something unimportant and ran with it again.

The mere thought of Bush's retalitory powers may have made him think twice. Think of IRS audits and the such like.

President Bush has way too much charactar and decency to use his position for revenge. You must be thinking of the Clintons.

Nope, that crap is for Dimocrats and other dictators. You won't see it happen.

Except for the dimz, who probably won't buy his book either 'cause he is probably not too hard on W.)

The far left radicals will buy it simply because they are desperate to get the smallest thing on Bush. Even if Ronald Reagan wrote a book and just slightly critisized Bush, they would stand in line to get it. Thing is there aren't enough far left radicals to make this guy any money.

I saw Mrs. Bush interviewed this morning on NBC about this. Norah Odonnell asked her how they felt.. She said.. betrayed... by a friend by taping a conversation without our knowing.....

I saw this, too, and she did not say that. Here is what she said:

Laura Bush: ‘I want to be known for who I am’

excerpt:

O'Donnell: Do you feel betrayed? Does the president feel betrayed?

Bush: Well, I mean, I think it's very odd and awkward, to be perfectly frank, to tape someone while you're talking to them on the phone, and they don't know it, and then come out with the tapes later. So we'll have to see, you know, I don't know if I'd use the word “betrayed,” but I think it's a little bit awkward for sure.

I think it's an important point but she certainly managed to convey that Wead had certainly behaved badly.

I hope WEAD is weeded out. To little to late. He is a disgrace.

If you mean from the Bush circle, he hadn't spoken to them in years.

"You've made your bed, lumpy as it may be, now sleep in it."

That made me laugh! My Grandma (Bless Her Heart) used to tell us, "You've buttered your bread...now lay in it!" LOL!

This doesn't raise Wead's cred in my eyes one tiny bit. Let's do all we can to make sure his book hits the Remainders Rack, ASAP. Jerk.

How long until the media starts comparing Wead to Jeff Gannon, and claim he was actually a Rove plant?

I agree. What a maroon. I bet he isn't Bush's friend anymore. Bush is very big on loyalty.

Rove also masterminded the CBS faked documents you know. Somehow he figured they could be hornswoggled and the rest is history, as they say.

That's what the dems say, anyway (the first part, not the last part about CBS being DUmb).
