One can only wonder what agendas are being furthered by the continued existence of this woman. It most certainly doesn't support the preservation of the "Dignity of Human Life" argument.
One fact is indisputable in this whole matter, this woman's life has been reduced to that of a political/religious football PERIOD!!! She is being kept alive by parents who refuse to let her go out of blind loyalty to her and antipathy toward her son-in-law (former?) whom they blame for her condition.
Most will have the typical knee-jerk reaction and construe my above statement as support for her husband. Nothing, of course, could be further from the truth but paint me as you will. Separate her from the mechanical means which keep her alive, God will let His will be known.

God will let His will be known.
Yes, He has, and for 15 years He has decided that Terri should live.

Please tell me how STARVING someone to death supports the DEATH WITH DIGNITY argument?

If God wanted to take Terri, do you think any mortal would be able to stop him?
You complain that the people who are trying to keep Terri from being brutally dehydrated are treating her as a 'political football'. What would you suggest that people who don't believe Terri wants to be starved to death should do?
Also, from what I can tell, Terri loved her parents. Is it plausible that this woman's will to die is so strong that she'd rather be put to death in a way that will make her parents miserable than be allowed to live with her parents and provide them some joy and comfort? I cannot imagine any woman wanting her husband, claiming to act on her behalf, to fight so viciously to have her fatally dehydrated.

Separate her from the mechanical means which keep her alive, God will let His will be known. Shall we see what God does about you, if you are separated from food and water for two weeks? (If you are so sure that it would be God's will shown, why don't you go for two weeks and see what happens!) God ordinarily (but not always) uses means, remove the means and the normal result will follow for Terri and for you. Don't tempt God - that is what you would be doing by removing the food and water.

Separate her from the mechanical means which keep her alive, God will let His will be known. for the trillionth time - she IS NOT on "mechanical means" - she breathes on her own. she is awake and alert and responds to and recognizes her parents.
Nurses have testified that she can and has swallowed food on her own - but the husband will NOT allow it - so she is fed thru a tube...and that is the ONLY intervention she needs - Everyone needs food and water to live - it is not extraordinary intervention

Won't work with Greer issuing fatwa's against anyone feeding or watering her by mouth. Can't have her choking, don't ya know. She might die < /sarcasm>.
