And finally, looking outside of the prism of the Democratic party, one of these women finally is able to take center stage.
I do not believe that the American black community as a whole is oblivious to this. I do think that, over time, more of them will see that Republicans represent personal empowerment and an ability to live one's life authentically, as oneself (gee, I sound libertarian and I'm really not).
Not to diminish Rices accomplishments, but can-do black women are a dime a dozen.
Nah, she didn't want to diminish Dr. Rice's accomplishments, did she? /sarcasm.
-If people like Rice are a dime a dozen, how come no previous liberal administration found one like her to appoint to a very high position hummmm?
-Does the name Jocelyn Elders ring a bell? One inspires respect, the other is a laughing stock. This just shows that ability trumps race every time as a good criteria for selecting people to important jobs.
Whoever wrote this garbage should reflect on that, instead of trying to feed us the same manure that lost them the White House, the Senate, and the House.
Notice that racism is most often found among the less intelligent and less educated. And many more of those are 'Rats than are Republican.
...38 years since Deborah Mathis had a rational non-partisan thought...
more sour grapes from the lefties...
and remind me, please?
how many black cabinet members were there during the so called "black president" Clintoon's eight years???
"... can-do black women are a dime a dozen."
Sounds like a hip-hop video.
Was 9/11 a figment of my imagination or are these columnist writing in a vacuum?
It'd be a lot easier for America to forgo acting like the world's daddy if there were fewer nations that acted like spoiled toddlers.
Note to self, don't read so fast, the "journalist" didn't say teeth, she said term. Duh. Well I still think the "columnist" is stupid, but then it appears I am too.
Oh my - I wonder what Deborah's thoughts on Affirmative Action are. Since super-qualified and capable Black women are so plentiful, she must loath the program. I guess this gal's idea of the proper Administration to back would be one that feels like Howard Dean does when he talks about needing to tap the hotel staff in order to find extra Blacks. Hmmm - it must be how she feels too or she would rail about him instead of trying to cut down a Black woman that makes her look so pale as to be nearly . . . . . . white.
[But even those of us who find Rice rather annoying and are ashamed of her allegiance to such an arrogant administration even we have to admit that, when it came to style, Rice represented]
Self-absorbed elitists are often annoyed when confronted with true talent and great intellect.
They tip their hats to style because, in their world, it trumps substance every time.
A "can-do sister"? How completely insulting.
Classic case of putting your ideology over your common sense.
Debbie, dear, THE WORLD NEEDS A STRICT DADDY, or have you been in a cave for the last hundred years?
but does she have that certain "zing"?
Note to the author, Deborah Mathis: Get your facts straight first, then maybe I will pay attention to your viewpoint. The Secretary of State does not travel on AF2. That's the designation for aircraft carrying the Vice President.
If Black Women like Condi are a dime a dozen, why have I not ever heard of Deborah Mathis???
Sure, Condoleezza Rice is Sharp, But whining harridan "journalists" Are a Dime a Dozen
