Actually, if they wanted to do a truly honorable thing, they would take the money they're going to spend to adopt this child, and give it to a two-parent family that would love to adopt but can't afford it. She could then be "auntie-single woman" and still be part of the child's life, while giving the child what every kid really needs at the most basic level-- a mom AND a dad.
