As bad as adoption by a single parent may be, it's still a family, it is still better than the alternatives.
There are worse things that could happen to an innocent human being (of any origin) than grow up in America. Much worse.

By that logic, we should place children with families that have a history of abuse too, right?
There is no shortage of actual two-parent families who would like to adopt but lack the financial means. As a society, it would be better for us to subsidize such families than to laud selfish single women who want trophy-kids.
If you're a single women who really and truly wants to take care of and educate children, I recommend the religious life. You'll have more kids than you can handle.
