Just heard on WBAP that they have cancelled the Amber Alert for Lisa and Jayden Underwood. Since they arrested a suspect earlier and charged him with capital murder, this can only be sad news.

Police arrest suspect on murder warrant

FORT WORTH -- A Fort Worth man was arrested early Tuesday on a capital murder warrant in the abduction of a woman pregnant with his child and her 7-year-old son.

Stephen Barbee, 37, was initially held in Smith County Jail with bail set at $2 million but was later released to Fort Worth police, who were transporting the man back to Tarrant County.

Police, meanwhile, continued to search for Lisa Underwood, 34, and her 7-year-old son, Jayden.

Lt. Gene Jones confirmed an arrest had been made in the case but declined to comment further.

Sources said major case detectives traveled to Tyler on Monday night by helicopter after requesting that Tyler police locate Barbee and take him to their headquarters to be interviewed by Fort Worth police.

It was unknown how police knew Barbee was in Tyler.

I had heard this morning they were searching another house this morning on the northwest side of FW.

I knew then they had either found a body or a perp.

According to Channel 5 in Dallas, Barbee is the father of Underwood's unborn child. Statements from him led them to search a house in North Fort Worth, very near Underwood's bagel shop.

Ladies, if he ain't worth marryin', he ain't worth havin' around as the father of your child.

Additional: when police searched the home in North Fort Worth "they found what they were looking for." After that, they charged Barbee with capital murder.

Local news indicated Barbee turned himself in at 03:00 today. I believe the Durango has been found, near a body of water.

I read the background report, but there was NO mention as to who was the father of the new child and there was no mention of Jayden's father's name!! What gives??
