Gulfport/Biloxi is a lot closer and the shopping is a hell of a lot better!

If you ever run into Brett, ask him about the old Broke Spoke in the Kiln! I got drunk with his Dad there more than once.

The last time I was in the Broke Spoke was with 7 Navy SEALs. I was old enough be be Daddy to all and they thought they had to protect me. Ha!

But I had six brothers in my pocket!

Bruce Fu prepares a batch of POSS

I like his brother Kung better.

Of course, his other brother Huck is nice too.

I'm signed up for news releases from USM in Hattiesburg. According to their own press, they have quite a department working in this area. Not surprising that industry is starting to notice.
Their laser and polymers research departments are also way out on the bleeding edge.

Re: Brett. He grew up in Kiln. He graduated from USM in Hattiesburg and has a home there now.

Good Job
This post needs a thread of it's own.

Lot's pf people don't realize there are four different USACE entities in Vicksburg.

1.) The Mississippi River Commission (doubles as the Mississippi Valley Divion Headquarters, the dot on the map.)

2.) The Vicksburg District Headquarters

3.) Waterways Experiment Station - Lots of R&D - Home to a load of PhDs. DoD Computing center - About to take delivery of a third Cray Supercomputer

4.) The 412th Army Engineer command.

I have had the pleasure of working at three of these locations. Little V-burg trivia for ya. :)

He is, but you gotta remember, this is the Slimes. These people thought The Dukes of Hazzard was a seven-season documentary on life in south Georgia.

this Mississippi city best known as the home of the Green Bay Packer quarterback Brett Favre

Actually Brett is from Kiln, but we don't want to confuse that poor boy from the NYT. Telling him Kiln is close to Picayune wouldn't help him out any, either.

Glad to see the Burg getting some more tech stuff. I thought they were thinking of putting this work down on the Coast near Stennis, and close to the USM-Gulf Coast Campus.
