We have live threads for Nascar, NFL, etc. so here is one for the most popular sport on the planet.
American Landon Donovan and Bayer Leverkusen play Liverpool, while PSV Eindhoven, featuring U.S. midfielder DaMarcus Beasley, hosts Monaco.
Thats using stupid math. There are 6 billion people on the planet, and better than half have never watched a second of soccer in their life. Its the same people watching over and over and over.
(Illustrating the absurdity of trying to convince people they are somehow inferior to you because they have different tastes)
Where are you coming-up with that number?
The New England Patriots' Super Bowl victory over the Philadelphia Eagles was seen by an estimated 86.1 million people, down 4 percent from last year's game, Nielsen Media Research said Monday.Unless you are suggesting that several billion people from overseas watched the Super Bowl. LOL
Source.
?n?e talking about sport not politics! Don't give me that 'typical leftie' nonsense, or I'll just say that it's typical of a beaten conservative to accuse his combatant of being a leftie!
North Korea did beat Italy, which was probably the biggest shock in World football at that time. But then football has always been about more than political strength, as the US showed when they lost to Iran in the 1998 World Cup.
I don't think it's a bad thing to say that America doesn't get football and I certainly didn't mean it as an insult. It's just odd that the rest of the world plays it and you guys don't. You're missing out!
And for what it's worth, I stayed up and watched the Superbowl the other night. Very impressively done as always.
No idea how many people have been killed at the NFL. I've been caught up in trouble here and I assure you that it's not a pleasant experience.
Sorry, first line should read:
"Oi you, we're talking about sport not politics."
Not sure what happened to the text there....
I miss the NASL.
You should know that commies use sports to further their political agendas. It's all part of the same big commie picture. Have a nice day, I have to get back to work. Much like soccer, I don't "get" a dole check either. You never answered that murdered fan question, though
She migrates. It's that time of year, you see. They all go to Camden for the winter.
So do Capitalists, that's why you have shirt sales and beer adverts!
Nice scrapping with you, catch you again later.
(Oh, I did answer. I said I had no idea!)
The Super Bowl is broadcast in over 200 countries world wide.
Pizza does taste better than hot dogs.
I am suggesting that. The Super Bowl is broadcast in over 200 countries world wide.
Fair enough. I'd like to see some real figures, though.
I have been searching but am only coming up with American audience numbers. I did make a mistake though. I meant to type over a billion, not several billion.
You can count the number on one hand. Can I assume you have hands, or is that why you like soccer? Thanks for the laughs, good luck to your team.
* " I am suggesting that. The Super Bowl is broadcast in over 200 countries world wide." *
There are only 192 countries in the world.
It doesn't mean anyone watches it.
Have you ever noticed fake American Football Jerseys being sold in China or Indonesia?
I'm afraid you are way off the mark on this one.
I would wager the Cricket World Cup would have a wider audience than the Superbowl.
