In their warped liberal minds, he is the greatest in history.

It says right here that most (95%) haven't a clue as to when most of these men were President or why they may have been important.

Considering a lot of Americans can't tell you the name of their Congressman, their two Senators, the Secretary of State, etc., etc., etc., this does not surprise me.

Nuff said. That they could find 1008 people to take their poll is a surprise to me. Didn't know there were even 300 people that read USA Today.

I've always said, in all seriousness, that Clinton did what I want most presidents to do--step aside and let things run when they're going well. He was the ultimate "caretaker" president in that things pretty much went on their own without his interference and he KNEW that. So I think he was not bad at all in terms of the economy BUT he did nothing in many areas that needed to be addressed.

On the economy he did nothing, which was fine more or less; on all non-economic areas he was a complete disaster.

Considering that my Congressman and both Senators are screaming leftists, I would prefer NOT to recall their names.

Clinton is the most recent expresident. It gives him an advantage. He has a clot of diehard followers sort of like the Saddam dead-enders in Baghdad.

As for the Founders, nobody know very much about them anymore except that they were white male slave-owning fascists.

The increase in President Reagan's vote may be attributable to the generally favorable publicity at his death.

Jimmuh Carter was the worst president, both in and out of office. He was and is a disaster for this country. I just wish the bitter old fart would hurry up and check out.

Bill Clinton 15% for the biggest tax increase in history, the war in Kosovo(which is about to become 'un-resolved', and the definition of "is"

FDR 13% For socialist security and the "New Deal" which was more detrimental to the nation's economy than the depression.

JFK 12% for inflation, the Bay of Pigs, Castro, Vietnam, scandal, but an inspiring speech.

Jimmah Carter 3% for screaming inflation, the Iran hostage crisis, global cooling...er...global warming...er..., (granted these not as POTUS) a nuclear North Korea, Hugo Chavez and the spread of communism in the western hemisphere.

Oh yeah, easily top 10 for those contributions.

Lincoln lived with the pain of Civil War each day.
Clinton "felt our pain" in civil discourse each day.
Liberal love feelings and empathy.

Best I can figure for now...

A couple of weeks ago, the TV in the other room was tuned to some game show and this was the question the contestant was asked:

"Who served as U.S. Vice President and President but was not elected to either position?"

The contestant's answer: Colin Powell.

I'd even put Clinton above Carter. Honestly, IMHO, Clinton was far from the worst president we have had. I'd put him in the middle to lower third of the pack. And after all, he managed to undo nearly 50 years of corrupt Democrat party hegemony in the House of Representatives, which was a great gift for the Republic. Granted, he didn't intend to do that, but it happened on his watch and he deserves some credit.

As to Carter, I would put him deep in the pits with Buchanan. He was an absolutly awful president. I'd also put him at rock bottom as far as a human being. (I don't give a damn about his pretend charity stuff --- that's all PR) He is a mean, sneaky, vindictive, sanctimonious little SOB and he always has been.

...I would prefer NOT to recall their names..."

*LOL*

Having immigrated from California to Virginia 11 years ago I know how you feel. Exchanging Di-fi and Baxter for Warner and Allen was a bit of an improvement; although, when I first got here Chuckie Robb (D) was the 'junior' Senator [before he was caught with a woman that wasn't his wife, that is] and Warner was getting over his divorce to Elizabeth Taylor.

Senators! You can dress 'em up but you can't...................

In my lifetime, the worst three American Presidents are Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and Lyndon Johnson (in no particular order). That's the last three Democrat Presidents.

If they had been elected, Al Gore and John Kerry would have sunk even lower. I see a trend.

I usually watch FOX for national news and commentary even though it sometimes means listening to Juan Williams for a take on daily events. I often listen to FOX and Friends in the AM when I am getting dressed because as dim-witted as those people are, they are less aggravating first thing in the morning that the other networks...until this morning.

They were talking about this ridiculous Gallup Poll.

When they announced this AM that clinton figured ahead of Bush and Lincoln and Washington, the woman said (paraphrase): Well, you have to understand they didn't have the electoral college around in those day to certify the elections. (I nearly couldn't finish getting dressed.)

Then a few minutes later they started playing some actor giving a rendition of the Gettysburg Address. The guy said (paraphrase): Those, of course, the immortal words of George Washington.

I sometimes think we are doomed.
