Suppose you were a member of Congress, and you wanted to make sure no one ever took you seriously, other than a hard-core group of true believers who bought into conspiracy theories?
Could you come up with a better plan to accomplish that goal than this?

The gun control advocate hasn’t tried to bring any firearms onboard any airplanes lately, but Hinchey remains one of the Empire State’s most disliked and ineffective members. Last year, he paid Patricia Lynch, one of Albany’s top lobbyists, big bucks to lobby her former boss Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver to save his district from being eliminated in the redistricting process. Now it looks like Lynch and Silver have given Hinchey, who was re-elected to another term in his new district, a new decade-long lease on his congressional seat. Don’t bother sending either Pat or Shelly a thank you note. They didn’t do the people of New York any favors when they extended the political career of this former Thruway toll collector.

Well, as long as they keep buying into these conspiracy theories, they'll set themselves up for more and more losses in the future. Real Americans can see right through these transparent idiots.

"Cody" is an action figure made for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, which supplies U.S. military bases worldwide with various items. The doll was meant to look like a U.S. soldier who might be serving in Iraq.
When Hinchey found out this was a gag did he proclaim that Karl Rove was trying to make the terrorists look desperate.
