WASHINGTON - The voice of science is being stifled in the Bush administration, with fewer scientists heard in policy discussions and money for research and advanced training being cut, according to panelists at a national science meeting.
Speakers at the national meeting of the American Association for Advancement of Science expressed concern Sunday that some scientists in key federal agencies are being ignored or even pressured to change study conclusions that dont support policy positions.

Should read -- Boy who cried wolf alert. Do liberals think anyone in this country takes them seriously anymore? The gig is up.
Oh come on. The article reeks of left-wing environmental propaganda and POV. One could peg the author's intent within ten seconds. Need I provide specific references? I'd rather you re-read the article, as this wouldn't waste my time.
Pseudo-Science (that which calls itself science, but fails to adhere to the scientific method) has become the religion of the humanist. If the government doesn't fund basic research, it won't be done. But, I'm a scientist and place value on basic research and thus, biased in this regard. If you don't want to see basic research done in this country start a petition to get a law for the government to stop. In the long run the consequences would be disasterous.
You seem to have concluded that since I don't want as much government money spent here, that I want to totally eliminate all basic research from America, in all forms.
This reminds me of the fear mongering rhetoric I hear from the 'Rats over Social Security reform.
Okay, you're the expert on science.
