NALCHIK, February 20 (RIA Novosti) - During a three-day joint special operation conducted by the Interior Ministry and the FSB on the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria (a federal republic in the North Caucasus), operatives eliminated and detained several bandits who planned terrorist acts on the territory of the Russian Federation.
During a press conference in Nalchik, the capital of the republic, Russian deputy interior minister Arkady Yedelev announced that five terrorists were detained and three were eliminated.
Operatives discovered an underground lab for manufacturing explosive devices. They seized various amounts of TNT, plastic explosives, hexogen, saltpeter and 69 detonators.
As to three terrorists eliminated in Nalchik, they were all on a wanted list in connection with terrorist acts in the Rostov region and the Stavropol region. The authorities established their connection with the leaders of the Chechen armed resistance Maskhadov and Basayev.
Mr. Yedelev did not reveal the names of the eliminated and detained terrorists referring to the fact that some of the remaining terrorists were still at large.
Federal troops did not suffer casualties during the assault. Operatives used Cheremukha-7 tear gas in the attack. According to Mr. Yedelev, the use of this type of tear gas is allowed by international standards for special anti-terrorist operations.
Only one apartment, where the militants were hiding, was damaged during the operation.
Well, they certainly take their terrorists seriously. Russia needs to get onboard the world-wide war on terror.
Terrorists kaputnik in Nalchik
Trouble is,Russians of the past 90 years promoted terrorists;it will take a generation or two for the idea of fighting terrorists to really take hold. After all, what is communism but state terrorism?
