But what the heck does the anti-war activities of a few celebrities have to do with their on-screen work, their acting talents, or whether they do (or do not) deserve to be awarded at the Oscars? Need I remind you that talent crosses all party lines and knows no political boundaries? That Jane Fonda is just as good an actress as John Wayne was an actor?

Besides, the Academy has NEVER even nominated Martin Sheen for an Oscar, yet you waste time and bandwidth posting another tired article about another idiotic "demonstration" Sheen put on over the war in his off-time. And I'M the one who's supposed to be ignorant?!

The Oscars don't have ONE bleeding damn thing to do with the war in Iraq, and I'd appreciate it if you guys wouldn't drag the extracurricular activities of a few actors into the "professional" subject of the Academy Awards ceremony.

The connection is common knowledge in Conservative circles, that the Hollywood "elite" is inherently hostile, not only to the Nation of Israel, but America's Judeo/Christian heritage as well. I'm still a little incredulous that you don't see the connection. From Michael Moore's hostile comments against Israel, to Sean Penn traveling to Baghdad, Iraq, at the onset of hostilities in opposition to America. A Conservative like Mel Gibson having to end run and dodge the Hollywood hierarchies to get his film "The Passion" on the market, and its subsequent huge success was historical. Rosie O'Donnell, Rob Reiner, the list is endless.

It is notable that many liberal Jewish people are renown for their lives in and connections to Hollywood, yet we know any Conservative/Observant Jew here at Free Republic is more than adept at barbecuing them and their intermittent pompous bombast with a linguistical skill that is peerless. As we have been discussing lately concerning the WCC and the Presbyterian divestment efforts directed against Israel, many are Jews/Christians in name only.

One writer stated, wars are won and lost on the battlefield of public opinion, and Hollywood and the MSM is key in attempting to form and direct that opinion. As another writer pointed out, Hollywood's hostility towards Israel is more evident in what they haven't said concerning her war against Islamic terror, than what has been said. Hollywood, as a culture unto itself and an institution, is a moral and cultural sewer that incessantly pumps out the most offensive and caustic ideas opposed to everything America, and indeed Israel, were founded on and stand for.

Free Republic's AnnaZ raising the flag right outside the front door of a Hollywood cultural centerpiece like the Kodak Theatre, in filming this video and the ideas it conveys concerning the billboard by CitizensUnited.org, has absolutely everything to do with the support and longterm security of our ally Israel; everything to do with protecting the safety and security of the United States, both physically and culturally. America and Israel are founded on IDEAS, most Biblically based, which have been under unrelenting attack by secular leftist, liberal Marxist Hollywood "elites" for decades now.

So this makes me a "'protest Hollywood' zombie"? Oh well. It puts me in the solid majority at Free Republic. The Christian Supporters of Israel List at Free Republic is promoted and published outside of the FR system through my posting history page as well, so any project like this one by AnnaZ is extremely relevant to the support of Israel. So what? I'm beginning to think that a "solid majority" of FReepers wouldn't know a quality film if it jumped out and bit them in the ass. Am I supposed to follow you down your tunnelvisioned "I hate everybody that isn't a conservative" rabbit hole because of "peer pressure"? Ha. If you are WILLFULLY ignorant of any Hollywood talent that doesn't fit your personal moral standards of behavior, then why the heck should I even LISTEN to what you have to say about actors. It's a simple, undisoputable fact that if one does not care about the cinema to begin with (has nothing but ugly hostility towards it), one can have nothing of value to add to a discussion on the subject.

Maybe if you actually dared to see a movie every once in awhile that doesn't involve your personal religious beliefs and politics you'd know what I mean, but you sound like one of those guys who'd rather harbor Hollywood conspiracy fantasies then see the product for yourself and make up your own damn mind.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I just can't respect somebody who lacks the most basic ability to discern between superb professional talent and personal politics (however loathsome those politics may be). The Best Picture Oscar nominees aren't even very "political" at all this year, as both the right-wing Passion of the Christ and the left-wing (Hell, almost communist) farenheit 9/11 are NOT among the nominees. So what's the deal here?

P.S.= I'm on your list in the first damn place only because I support the continued existence of the Jewish state and because I oppose the Muslim militants ("Palestinians") who have devoted their lives to destroying Israel and murdering it's innocent Jewish population as some kind of distorted gift to their god. And guess what, bucko? The Militant anti-Semite Muslims share your views that Hollywood is an evil den of moral corruption and sin that is destroying our children, blah blah. It's amazing how often the Falwell/Dobsen boot-lickers here on FR sound like the Mooslimes when they get started on Hollywood. Me, on the other hand...I choose to fight against ALL comers on the right, left, middle and fringes for the sake of artistic freedom and expression in America.

I believe in the movies AND I believe in the mutual benefits and moral righteousness of American diplomatic and military support for Israel. If this means I'm too "soft" on Hollywood to be on your precious PING list anymore than you are welcome to drop me any time you want. There'll be no hard feeling on my part if you do, just as long as you never again ping me to another paranoid movie roast as long as I FReep.

I spent a BIG chunk of Friday night on a recon mission -- right in the belly of the beast, and HERE are my recommendations:
1 - RALLY START POINT: Hollywood & HIGHLAND
(NOT Hollywood and WHITLEY)
We will have to promote the "Thank you, Hollywood" billboard in some other way.
It is just TOO FAR away from the "main event" at Hollywood & Highland.
2 - PARKING: 1718 N. Cherokee Ave.
(just north of Hollywood Blvd, near Musso & Frank's Grill)
Parking inside a SAFE, guarded building -- only $6 for all day.
Only two short blocks to the rally .
3 - COLOR: Wear something BRIGHT RED
Or PURPLE, if you prefer
We want to STAND OUT in the crowd.
We plan to pass out the giant purple fingers some time after noon - first come, first serve.
4 - post-Rally FOOD and FELLOWSHIP: International House of Pancakes
Hollywood I.H.O.P. - 7006 W. Sunset Blvd., at Orange Dr.
One block SOUTH on Highland, one block WEST on Sunset.
We can WALK there after the rally, and their prices are reasonable.
They are currently holding space in their back room for a party of TWENTY.
We will probably DOUBLE that number, and they will still have room for us.
