Maverick Republican Sen. John McCain said Sunday that his New York colleague, Sen. Hillary Clinton, would do well if she becomes president of the United States.
"I am sure that Sen. Clinton would make a good president," McCain told NBC's "Meet the Press," as both he and Clinton were being interviewed from Baghdad.
While noting that as a Republican, he'll be supporting the GOP nominee in 2008, McCain reiterated, "I have no doubt that Sen. Clinton would make a good president."
Asked whether she thought McCain would make a good president, Sen. Clinton was somewhat less effusive, responding tersely, "Absolutely" - before erupting in her familiar cackle.
OK......NO MORE PICS OF H. CLINTON>>>>>man, she really puts me off my feed......
She could never get elected. She would remind every man of a Ex- Girlfriend, or Ex- Wife they had.
No wonder Bill went to Monica for some fun, could you imagine sleeping next to THAT everyday
Ahhhh!
I absolutely agree with you. I recall reading at one time that the very personality attributes that made it possible for McCain to resist his captors and to survive were not those that would necessarily serve him in good stead as a team player. And at least in his case he has proven that to be true, in my opinion. (Wish I could remember who said that!)
I have never cared for the idea of Mr. McCain in politics;nor ,may I add, do I believe the nation should risk putting anyone in charge who was in the hands of hostile foreign powers for anextended period.Just because a person has worn the uniform does not qualify him to lead.
Now isn't McCain the guy that became a hero by catching a SAM with his F4?
My take as well, but statement's like that just can not be made in the Middle East and it deserves approbation.
Thank you for that photo. Now I won't feel so badly when I look in the mirrow first thing in the morning. And to think she spent time on her face only to have it look like that! We all have bad days but think I would stay inside--probably in a closet. Maybe she's saving a professional makeover to surprise us on her Inauguration (of the Bill Clinton museum annex, that is).
He's saying, if the U.S. casualties continue, that public support will not and our presence will not.
What message do you think that sends the remaining insurgents?
Opprobrium? :)
LOL, yeah that's the one. I always confuse the two.
Interesting. Hillary starts acting like a moderate Dem now, and bags a "maverick" Republican for her veep. Then she runs as a moderate Dem, but the Dem party faithful know she's a radical leftist at heart, so they won't stand in her way.
Once she's in office... who knows how she would rule? If she was too liberal, too fast, Republicans would probably win a nice-sized majority in Congress in 2010. That's the only check on her power.
Now I am positive that I would not vote at all if McCain were in the run for President or Vice President.
Not a good one. As Walsh implied, some things are better left unsaid, even if true.
So .. is McCain lobbying for the VP spot with Hillary ..??
Why anybody would support this guy is just beyond me.
McCain makes me sick.
Now I also believe he is entitled to be goofy after what he went through as a POW, but I don't want him near any major decision process of Government!
Punish Arizona for reelecting this lunatic.
