Please pray for my 17 year old daughter's safety, that the Lord is watching over her and protecting her from harm. I just filed a missing persons report with the Columbus Police Department about an hour ago, when it became apparent that I was not going to get the usual call from her letting me know where she was.
I left for work at 10:45 am and the last thing she said was that she was going to get her hair cut. No e-mail, no phone calls to me throughout the course of the day, which struck me as odd, because we hadn't had any harsh words and life seemed to be great. I got off work at 9 pm and she wasn't home, which isn't unusual because she spends alot of time with Young Life. Hours passed, no phone call. By 2 I was nearly hysterical with worry. I have left messages on her friends' cell phones hoping for a call back. I am sorry to say that I was not able to give the officer a description of what she was wearing, only a picture.
This is SO out of character for this young lady. She's always been the responsible one, even though she has been suffering from Senior-itis this year and has tested the boundaries to the limit. I am so frightened thinking of the possibilities here that I don't know where to turn, and I would appreciate your prayers tonight. I am hoping that perhaps she told me she'd be sleeping over tonight at a friend's house, but I have racked my brain, and frankly, I just don't remember any conversation like that taking place. (I haven't had a day off in 3 weeks.)
Goodness, why can't I post correctly?
I would just like to see if the police press charges against the mother of the kid who was permitted to throw the party.
I am thrilled to here your daughter is all right.
If indeed she does have a hangover then have her clean the garage, do some yard work or something not fun. Letting her go back to bed would be letting her off easy for all the torture you went through. (That worked for me when I was a teen, didn't drink again for several years)
Blessed to read of it.
PTL. THANKS, LORD!
Thanks for the update.
Sunshine, I'm so glad that your ordeal is over and your daughter is safe! Praise and thanks to the Lord Jesus and the Father for prayers answered!
Maggie, warm regards to you as well. I've missed you and Sunshine this last year or so.
Great bunch of people- these Freepers...
XOXO

thank you, Lord. Sunshine, go to bed and get some much needed sleep.
EXCELLENT news, Sunshine! I hope she feels guilty enough for all the pain and suffering that she put you and her sister through that she will NEVER try a stunt like this again. (Hey, if Christina has a job, couldn't she pay for her own cellphone bill? It sure is a handy tool to have, and practically a necessity in case of emergency.)
VERY pleased to hear you found your daughter.
Thank you, Lord.
Praise the Lord, so happy to hear she's on the way home!!!
When Christina finds out all the people who knew about her lack of consideration in letting her mom know where she was (or just that she was okay), she might just be embarassed into good behavior. All those youth group kids, leaders at church, friends and friends-of-friends. We can only hope that this will turn out like the previously mentioned Starbucks episode, where the embarassment today pre-empts any future antics of this nature.
Sunshine, when your daughter gets home, you should make her read every one of these posts out loud. It will help her understand what she put you and your friends through.
Don't be a stranger. Log in from time to time. ;-)
You and Sunshine are the best!
Thank GOD!
Isn't life amazing - one brush with the unthinkable, and we suddenly realize how much we love this person we helped create, even when they do something terribly stupid or wrong.
God must feel the same way about me...
I am so glad for you!!
What wonderful news that you found her safe!!!
Ground her until she is 21.
Say a prayer of thanks.
Sit down with a hot cup of tea (or glass of wine) and relaxxxxxxx!
;-)
I had the exact same thought, but I thought maybe I was being crazy to think it. But, I know I would do that to my kids.
Prayers going up. May God keep you strong.
Thank God... Sunshine... print out this thread and present it to your daughter. Let her KNOW that her actions had nationwide repercussions...
I hope the Police throw the book at that "mother" who allowed her house to be used as a party pad with alcohol... and who knows what else.
Now for the fun part! If she's hung over, it's a good time for her to clean the garage or basement... Give her something to remember this one by! LOL!
Very happy and relieved for you both!
Praise God, Sunshine55's daughter has been found!
