Americans are being sold out on the jobs front. Americans' employment opportunities are declining as a result of corporate outsourcing of U.S. .jobs, H-1B visas that import foreigners to displace Americans in their own country, and federal guest worker programs President Bush and his Republican majority intend to legalize the aliens who hold down wages for construction companies and cleaning services. To stretch budgets, state and local governments bring in lower-paid foreign nurses and schoolteachers. To reduce costs, U.S. corporations outsource jobs abroad and use work visa programs to import foreign engineers and programmers. The U.S. job giveaway is explained by a "shortage" of Americans to take the jobs.

It is my understanding that deflation has been more common than inflation in the last few years.
That is because all us conservatives are on the government dole.
It is not the theoretic equation that stumps most, it is that the simple answers are belied by the facts. The facts show that as imports increase the economy grows and the number of domestic jobs increases. In case it escaped some, jobs = wage earners. Wage eartners are able to buy. Circle closed.
The problem with that is it ain't happening!
What if a non-union plant opened down the street from a union plant producing the same product? Before too long the union plant would have to close because of the competition. Who you gonna call then?
You can be "against" whatever you like, but you don't have a say in that matter.
Just one person I know placed 100+ Americans last year alone. The others were right up there as well.
I'll talk about engineers. The dirty secret with some of the outsourcing done in large companies is that there is generally a small group of engineers stateside that are up to their ears making 'outsourcing' look transparent to a management that has bought into the fairytale of 'we can get the same quality by paying a simple fraction of the cost by hiring in Asia'.
Problem is, it isn't true. India, while having some very smart people ( generally book smart ), does not have the infrastructure to support quality manufacturing. China has 'engineers' that are generally coming from 'technical colleges' ( read: vocational schools that don't train fundementals ). Plus, their culture generally makes 'technical' decisions resemble climatic scientists tailoring their findings to fit the global warming political agenda.
In the meantime, the mid-level managers seek to continue the 'outsourcing', pumping up numbers while marketing charges the same prices for lower grade products, while the small group of technical staff I mentioned before either has their hair go gray early or has lost it all together.
Combine that with dumbasses in Marketing who I, for one, am perplexed, ever graduated to garner bigger salaries than the folks actually making the world run, and it's no surprise parents are telling their kids to stay away from the technical field.
BTW,doctors are telling their kids to NOT follow in their footsteps.
Greed is a Liberal trait and I believe it's one of the seven deadly sins. I don't look to gubermint for much of anything beyond fixing my potholes, and limiting themselves to their Constitutional enumerated powers. That doesn't mean that I as individual can't recognize greed for what it is. Blackbird.
