Here's one you might find enjoy. Remember the kid I met in the sandwich shop this past summer? He had a photographic memory and did complex math calculations in his head. He described how he saw words and numbers as colors and unfolding shapes. Interesting.
34... uh-oh...
.
Yeah. I can just look at a number, and I have a pretty good idea if it might be a prime (example: 37 yes, 42 no). Does that mean I have savant powers?
Fascinating.
Don't feel bad..I got a 44. EEEEEEK.
You too!?
You cheated..:)
I only ended up with 15?
No, I meant there was the strong possibility of unconscious bias.
Whenever I wasn't sure which one to put down, I had to stop and think about it. But while I was thinking about it, I knew in the back of my mind which option I chose would make me "more" autistic.
I tried to be fair and honest.
I have a pornographic memory.
An insightful question: how many of Hilbert's 23 problems were solved by savants?I think this goes to the heart of the issue of whether these people have exceptional mathematical talent, or are simply really good arithmetic calculation and memorization.
Your guess is probably "zero" and I agree. It's true that Yuri Matiyasevich was a teenager when he proved that there's no universal algorithm for solving Diophantine equations (Problem 10), so one might think that perhaps he was a savant. But we have to distinguish between savants and prodigies. Plenty of great mathematicians showed their abilities at a very early age, but there's no evidence that any of them were autistic savants (although some might have had Asperger's Syndromesee Earthdweller's post #25 on this thread).

I know. The first time I took it I tried to answer with the "correct" response also and got a 20. See how we smart people are? I know a lot of people super intelligent people that get by like that. Tee Hee.
Ping
Fascinating article. For some reason I think it might interest you.
thanks for the ping
DANG!!!
I got a 34!!!!
Hey!!
Me too!
Somebody else try this thing!!!!!
Bahhahah. Guess we all need to get together for a group support meeting. :)~
Just as it does in Hebrew.
It would be interesting to do a study on children who are brought up to be multi-lingual. How do they know when to switch from one language to another, or is it all one language to them?
My grandchildren are being raised multi-lingual: English, Hebrew and Russian.
