DEAN: "Democrats don't feel like anyone much cares what they have to say [about national security]."

Even a stopped clock...

First thing he said I agree with, we don't care!

hipaatwo, you are right. it is Vermont, not Jersey, that Dean was guv of. thanks for catching me, and I still think Dean is a bomb that has just exploded , is exploding, and will explode, ----too bad this debate is in Calif. and on a campus --

I don't believe Dean's "50 countries" unless he shows his passport with stamped visas.

I don't believe him either. Of course he's probably counting ski trips, Caribbean sailing excursions and the like anyway. I mean this is a man who uses a black roommate at an Ivy League school as an example of his knowledge of the black experience in the United States.

Because Dean is a second -rate John Kerry, is why. All they know how to do, bash the President. Notice, it's always President Bush they bash, hardly ever the Republican National Party, itself? hmmmmm

Perle's last question to Dean was excellent. Paraphrasing:

"If I was Chairman of the DNC, or the RNC for that matter, I might talk about these issues in a partisan manner, but I kept for years a quote from my old boss [Dem Senator] Scoop Jackson over my desk at the Pentagon, 'in matters of national security the best politics is no politics'. [So] as the newly minted DNC chairman, what do you intend to do to ease the partisan rancor of these necessary and important debates."

Dean answered (solely) by blaming Bush for the partisanship, although he made a great, if phony show, of being deeply saddened and oh so reluctant to do so.

IOW Perle cleverly accused Dean of rancorous partisanship, and Dean stupidly confirmed him!

I got to say this. Howard Dean is living up to my expectations. Muchly. He cannot say anything original, knows nothing to say, original, either. Wow.

But on Cspan 2 is total anti-American bashing panel with Richard "my wife is a spy" Wilson and Clare Short a Brit who is making fun of America to belly laughs from the audience.

what to watch? what to watch?

Perle slammed, (maybe it was a gentle slap) Powell. He told Dean that Powell conveyed the Democrat's ideas to the President and I don't think he meant as a messenger.

It's over. I'd rather give birth to an elephant than have to listen to Dean any longer.

I find it fascinating that everything is the fault of the Bust administration, yet no mention of the fact that Clinton did virtually nothing when U.S. interests were attacked five times under his watch. He is a pathetic representative of a pathetic party.

Is this the event at Pacific University? I had one of the C-SPAN channels on and they were starting an event at Pacific University (Forest Grove, Oregon, near Portland), and were welcoming Howard Dean, so I switched it off...I didn't realize that Perle would be on too.

Pacific University seems to be very liberal, to judge from their website...they have a Department of Feminist Studies, for example.
